- Bad service : ?
- Great service : ?
- Someone you know : ?
- If you have a rebate coupon : ?
- If something is credited on your bill : ?
- If you pay debit/credit : Cash tip or credit/debit tip ?

For my part :

- Bad service : 15% AFTER TAX
- Great service : 15-25% AFTER TAX
- Someone you know : I will tip well, rounding up my bill (ex. the bill is 28$, I'll leave 40$, won't ask for change)
- If you have a rebate coupon : I will tip on the amount BEFORE the rebate is applied (ex. the bill is 100$ with 15% rebate = 85$, I'll tip a minimum of 15$)
- If something is credited on your bill : I will tip on the amount BEFORE the credit is applied (ex. the bill is 100$, but my steak is credited because I found a hair in it and the final amount of the bill is 65$, I will leave a minimum of 15$)
- If you pay debit/credit : I always try to tip cash when paying with debit or credit, because I believe waiters/waitresses are now taxed on the total amount they are tipped when they are payed using the machine (instead of the usual 8%)

In the past, I tipped 20% on average (before taxes).

Then I went to better restaurants and saw what good service meant. They started getting 20% and shittier restaurants started getting less from me. Of course, the important thing is the service. If they make me wait forever before greeting me and taking my order, then bring food to different members of my party 15 minutes apart so that one person starts eating while the other waits or is already done

or

if they are rude and reach across the table or knock things over, then I am much more bold about not tipping much for a shitty service when there are people out there working hard and providing quality service (and therefore making me happy and getting that 20% from me).

Bad service I'll give 1cent. Just so you know that I didn't ''forgot'' to tip(happenned 1 time that the waiter said I forgot his tip after the shittiest service I ever had. Gave him 1 cent, bertstare ensued). Gave 1 cent 2-3 times.

Normal service will get 15% AT

Good service will get 25% AT

If I know the waiter(ess), I'll make lulz. Then I'll give a good tip.

I'm really not a picky or complaning person, but if you can't take my order correctly, make me wait excessively(this is the key-word) while there is clearly no rush in the restaurant and can't put a smile on your fucking phaggy face, I'll show you no mercy.

- Bad service : no tip. pokerface. When they either complain or say thanks come again blahblah I let them know why. I've walked out of Baton Rouge, 170$ bill, no tip. Why? It was a family supper I went with my gf, had a good time. So it gets to the dessert. I tell him, we are together, we need to head out now I have to leave it's urgent just get me my bill. Okok. So , he gets everyone their dessert, gets them coffee, and then brings the bills 45 min after I asked for it CAUSE IT WAS FUCKING URGENT YOU DICK. I gave no tip, my parents and grand parents also gave no tip on ~200$ bills each. I hope he fucking understood. Why didn't I get up? Everytime he passed by, he kept saying yes yes its on it's way.

- Great service : ? 25% after tax, also let them know by telling them or writing on the bill.

- Someone you know : round up the bill and +25%

- If you have a rebate : I tip on the original amount before rebate depending on service

- If something is credited on your bill : I tip depending if the reason of the credit is clearly visible on the top of food and waiter could have seen it or if it's something hidden like a hair in the sauce or whatever then it's not waiter's fault; full tip before credit.

- If you pay debit/credit : Cash tip or credit/debit tip : Nothing different from the above.

The poll says "Had a bad service" and yet most said they still tip over 15%?

I have often tipped 0% when I had a clearly bad service and the waiter/ess knew I was not satisfied.

If service is fair I give 15% before tax, if the service is good I give 15-20% after tax amount.

I give part of the tip based on the waiter/waitress service, but also on the experience within the establishment.

- Bad service : (If actually bad, and not just "meh") No tip, and talk with manager
- Meh service : 15% of total after tax
- Great service : 25-30% of total after tax if above $20. I sometimes give 50% of tip when I go to 3 Amigos on Sundays where my bill comes up to $12-$13
- Someone you know : I don't tip them and expect to get a discount on food on top of it. srs.
- If you have a rebate coupon : Rebate coupon does not change my view on service, so answers are the same as the first 3
- If something is credited on your bill : Depends on why it was credited. If the waiter sneezed on it, 0$/0%, if it just sucks or there's a hair on it, 15%
- If you pay debit/credit : Cash tip or credit/debit tip Like the rebate/coupon, it changes nothing.

Thanks for letting me play. :)

If the service was good I'll give 15%
If the service was bad I'll give cheap tip
If the waiteress is hot, ill give 5% more than 15%
