E90 Engine overheating light+no heating+fan going turbo speed

Hi,

Yesterday I was going on highway and was cruising around 140-150km/h with 4 people inside the car when suddenly a yellow engine overheat light came on, as I was on my way to pull on the side to check it out, it went red and I lost a lot of power (engine wise), stopped on the side, opened the hood, nothing was leaking. Turned the car back on, checked the hood and the fan was going apeshit retardly fast.

So I went back home this time cruising 30-50km/h so the engine doesnt blow.

The heating doesn't work at all, only cold air comes out.
There's doesn't seem to be any leak.
Lights is off as long as it's cold outside or the car running in my parking.
Fan is very loud.
The engine cooling liquid is at the right level.

What could be the problem? Im thinking about thermostat or water pump but how can I check that out?

Also I need the car tomorrow, can I keep driving it as long as it's cold or I shouldn't?

The car is a 325xi 2006 manual at only 115k

Profite en pour un cooling refresh... Pompe/thermostat/piping. J'ai pas verifié mon e90, mais les e36 le thermostat housing/ gasket sont a changer
 
+ 1water pump.

Si sa serais juste le thermostat, il aurais pas de chaleur mais pas de check engine et la fan ne virrerais pas au fond pour sa

So je vais l'amener chez le mecano demain, dans les combien je dois m'attendre a payer?
 
La pompe à eau électrique se vend environ 400$, le thermostat 100$. Aussi bien changer le thermostat aussi, car le mécano y aura déjà accès en enlevant la pompe à eau.
 
Moi j'avais magasiner et tout le monde voulait plus que 1000$ et j'avais finalement trouvé pour 900$.
 
Jaune sa doit etre dans le genre : avetissement pis le rouge ben a marche pu pentoute de quoi du genre. Mais si tu l'amene chez mecano j'espere c'est pas trop loin ou ben que tu le fait remorquer je prendrais pas de chance avec sa.

J'ai lu sa sur un autre forum : Water pump has a high failure rate. When it sets a code it also defaults the cooling fan to high

et le tensionner ... le mien s'est mit a faire deling deling ... 1 semaine après la job de pompe a eau, thermostat ...

Quand même pas pire ... les voitures n'ont plus de timing belt mais les pompes a eau fail au même milage pis coute aussi sinon plus chère qu'un overhaul timing belt, rollers, pompe a eau, belts ...
 
I just ordered the waterpump and thermostat but my mecanic guy isn't free till next week, is it easy to DIY?
 
Un rebuilt de waterpump est dispo et coute moins de 150 si tu le fait faire ou 32$ si tu le fais toit meme.! un thermostat cchez autokit pour mon m3 je lai payer 65$. Avec la job c pt 900., si tachete toute neuf oem, mais du jobber fait en masse la job. chez rockauto.com c'est un tres bon site aussi
