Yeah that's pretty stupid.

It's the Quebec government that should be hated with their fascist French laws, not the French people in general. But because of our government the people outside of Quebec have these negative opinions on the French.

I find that most (maybe all?) of the French people that support ads like that and the PQ are simply ill-informed and have no idea what really goes on in the rest of the world nor do they care.

Je l'ai entendue moi aussi cette annonce de merde et ça ne fait que me rappeler à quel point la gouvernance québécoise est désespérément narcissique. Des vrais language nazi!

Moi je commence a trouver ça bien drôle mais inquiétant en même temps. Il faut vraiment être singlé pour vouloir contrôler la langue que les gens parlent chez eux en famille pendant le temps des fêtes. Ça me tente quasiment de parler à ma famille en anglais même s'ils sont tous francophones juste pour avoir la satisfaction personnelle de ne pas avoir fait ce que cette bande d'imbéciles m'a demander de faire!

C'est tellement pitoyable, faut vraiment être perdant dans la vie pour organiser des annonces comme ça! Fuck you ma bande de losers.

I'd rather live in Quebec while I have a lower income, raise children here and pay 7$ per day for daycare while speaking English just to piss you off long enough for my children to be out of daycare and my salary to reach 6 figures and when that's done, ill get the fuck out to Ontario, making damn sure that the government of Quebec never gets another dime from me.

Ces pas des communauter ces des villes en entier qui parle francais ( cornwall , hawksbery ....) . Ya autant decole en anglais ici ces quoi le mausus de probleme ? Va te promener a hudson st-lazare pour que te nommee ceux la . Ma soeur a fait une immersion en anglais devine ou??? A oui a peine a 15 min de rigaud dans lecole de hudson !

Un moment donner faut faire avec . Le monde avait juste pas a votet pour la grosse marois que jhai autant que vs tous !

La différence est qu'en Ontario ils aident la communauté francophone, tandis qu'ici c'est l'inverse. Ils veulent les mettre de coté. il a des écoles Anglaise oui ( pour combien de temps avec marois ? ), mais les cours d'anglais dans nos école Française sont aucunement aussi bonne que le français enseigner en Ecole Anglaise de l’Ontario.

Et il as aussi la fameuse loi qui interdit des enfants que les parents on été a l’école française, d'aller a l’École en Anglais.. Rien du genre en Ontario..

no it seriously scares me because soon it will be illegal to speak english. Why would i move to Ontario? I'm born here.. With that mentality, everyone English should leave including all the Anglophone companies, and Quebec will be left with.. nothing.

English is the most important language worldwide, and you want to prevent Quebec to speak English? Thats a promising future, lets refuse to educate our people in spite of culture.. Yet again you open your doors to immigration but only give government jobs to your own people and talk about culture.. quebec is fucked and has no hope
 
Will hopefully find employment in Ontario in the new year. Not down with paying tax dollars to a government and government entities (OQLF) that try their best to suppress my language and culture.

It's cool to want to encourage French, but Québec's methods for doing so are becoming increasingly coercive and chalk-filled with classic propaganda techniques.

Btw, now it looks like the OQLF is doing what they can to confuse and kill off senior citizen anglophones taking medication:

A pharmacist who's been practicing in the West Island since the mid-60's is upset about a letter re received recently from his professional Order, which itself had received a warning from Quebec's Office de la Langue Francaise about a violation of the language law.

The pharmacist who brought this story to our attention and asked not to be identified or recorded says he's angry about an order from the OLF, which has told the Quebec Order of Pharmacists to have its members remove English-language posters and flyers from their pharmacies pertaining to Quebec's code of caution on medication.
Order of Pharmacists president Diane Lamarre says the OLF's directive was never questioned

As for the anonymous pharmacist -- a bilingual anglophone -- he as told CJAD News that he always serves his clients in the language of their choice.

I mean, you seriously need to be a sick fuck to agree with the way things are handled here linguistically.

If an English-language defense arm of the Ontario government was formed and tried these type of tactics against the french language in eastern ontario, Quebeckers, and the majority of level-headed Canadians would be (rightfully) calling bloody murder and the actions would be reversed so fast.
