Finally got a car worth putting money into.
Bought this 2002 Subaru WRX on Christmas eve, gift to myself
I have lots of plans in mind for it, and i thought of making a build thread.


First Day I got the car

Didn't like the spoiler, so I removed it

Temporarily covered holes with electric tape, gotta get them filled and painted


First time i saw it clean, looks pretty good for a quick wash

3 days after buying the car, I decided to stop at a JDM Shop and get a Fujitsubo exhaust

Also bought a blowoff valve, temporary one (First turbo car needed that feeling)

Car needed a very deep cleaning, Got that done right away.

Remove the blow off valve, you'll run rich between shifts, it will damage your turbo. Keep an eye on oil/coolant levels.
 
looks great how much did you pick it up for? Good thing you're in Blainville, close to swap shop if you ever need any major work done
 
Very nice!

That's the OEM triple gauge pod/gauges you have! Are you getting rid of it? There's a lot of people who would buy that.

It was temporary but i didn't know that it can ruin your turbo? How so ?

I'm not sure yet, Looking at aftermarket ones so we'll see!
 
If anyone knows of any good sites or places in Montreal to get parts, please let me know!! I have a lot of things on my list and I'd love some help!

How's the timing belt? Was it changed recently or ever? I'd change the diff fluids and trans fluids if you haven't done so already.
 
Since when running rich damages the turbo??? Yes it will build up a little carbon in the exhaust/cats and some small backfires, but damage the turbo???
