Looking for somewhere casual but not cheap to bring a girl on a first date. The type of restaurant that offers you an experience, à la Ice House or something similar.

Suggestions?

Maybe a place where they have Teppanyaki?

Toyo on rue de la montagne. Apparently it's great and it's fun. I'm planning on going there not sure if it's a good idea for a date or if it would just be better for a group of friends? Either way, that place sounds fun.

La Confusion tapas restaurant on St-Denis between Ontario and Rene-Levesque.

Make sure to make a reservation for the table with the swings. You don't sit on a chair, you sit on swings in front of a mirror. Sounds tacky but trust me it works once you get there, it's a really cool place with great music that's not too loud.

Great amtmosphere, low lights, intimate and all that stuff.

And the food is excellent!!! For 2 order about 5-6 tapas, don't forget the lobster macaroni and truffle oil sweet potato fries.

I guarantee your date will love it and will be smiling all night long. Tell them Jacques sent you they are used to me bringing dates there and will be extra-nice to you:D

Make sure she is worth though.

2nd place: Mikado sushi on Laurier, make a reservation at the sushi bar right in front of the chef and just flat out ask him for the restaurant's specialties. Not as original as La Confusion but it's the best sushi in town and very classy place. She will love it.

You're welcomed;)
