is it a car reliable ? I mean it's a 1.8t so I guess with regular maintenance it should be good, but otherwise, for an all year daily, would you suggest it ?

Ive been driveing my 03 1.8T GTI for the last 5 years as a daily and its super reliable. The 337 just has different estetics about it but the same thing basically. Love my MKIV GTI, most reliable car ive ever had :)

The 337 GTI has a very good engine and it's a very good car IMO.

If you are going to buy this car, invest on a serious anti-theft device, because thieves love that car, just like my previous 1999 USDM Honda Civic Si which got stolen when it was owned by Alex from Perry..

1.8T FTW!

If it has a good maintenance record, i'd get one.

180 hp
6 speed
Recaro seats

Get an exhaust, intake, a flash and this his a very fun car to drive.

Had one... loved it.

Amazing car and rare. I miss those Recaro seats
Great car to drive, enjoyed mine for many years. the 1.8 is such an easy engine to work with, and they were also produced in Brasil, not in mexico like many other models. Miss her too but..... .:R is something else!!! :)

Which is why the 20th is a better bet - no heated seats in the 20th though.

Heavier =/= better my friend ;)

That's why I prefer the 337.. it takes the GTI back to its roots of being a driver's car. The #'s 337 represent the numerical code used for the original and first ever GTI.

Here... this is my old tree tree seven:

can always go with the Gti vr6, no recaro seats but you still have 6speed + heated seats and sunroof and another 20hp stock...it guzzles gas though :(

I've got a brand new one back in days ... keep it for 5 years (sold in 2007), 75k km, storage every winter ...

never got a single problems, 1.8t in general are very good engine they only need good 502.00 oil, some coilpack and it can last 300k km easy ... the 6 speed manual transmission was almost the same as today's gti ... reliable for daily drive and very good ratio !
