Spinelli Toyota Pointe-Claire new car paint scratches

Bought a brand new Toyota Rav4 2012 end of this past October, all seemed well until now. I went to get a car wash yesterday for the first time (no contact wash at the local Ultramar) and I noticed lots of scratches all over the place. On the hood, on the side doors, around the windows. All seem to be on curved edges only, looks like some kind of buffing machine did it.

Was wondering what are my options and if anyone else had the same issue?

Hi TurboTronix (could you be Ron, with the same username on mx6.com by any chance?)

New cars are always prepped and "polished" by the dealer detailers which have very little time to work on the car and virtually all of them don't know how to do it right. The only way to fix this issue of buffer marks is by polishing them a new. Having it done by a pro is the only way to ensure that it is done right. There are a few detailers on this forum including myself that can help you out. IF you would like to talk about it, either PM me or give me a call.
 
But these are deep scratches...

And yes I used to be part of MX6.com, sold my Mazda a year ago, with the roads here in Mtl I decided to go for an SUV.
 
Best thing to do is have them checked out to see what can be done. If you have time tomorrow, I can check it out for you and see what's what.

You can try that, but chances are you're going to be told something that resembles "you've had the car for 3+ months now, so you can't hold us responsible for this" which technically, is true. Try it anyways and see what they have to say, but if they ask you to pay for them to polish and clean, then simply refuse because it will be the same story over again.

The people at Spinelli are very nice and very professional, but I doubt they will fix this for free, simply based on the fact that you've had the car for a few months now.

Chances are this is marks that were left there from the polishing and that was masked/covered up with heavy glazes. Touch-less car washes use heavy acid and degreasing chemicals to clean the cars in a touch-less way. These chemicals probably removed all the glazes and anything covering up the scratches and now you can easily see them.
 
Yes that is exactly what I think happened. I wanted to find if anyone else had the same issue with this dealer then I might have a case.

All dealers do this because they want to keep costs low and production high. So they pay $12-$14 per hour, use the horrible quality products and want cars banged out in less than 2 hours, so corners are cut and masking agents are used. Virtually everyone who bought a new car has the same issue, but like I said earlier, after 3 months, you won't have a "case". When I took my car from them, I straight up had them right it on my contract, "DO NOT EVEN WASH THE CAR" :p
 
So how much this might cost me? It ridiculous I barely used the car it was a brand new car and it looks worse then my 10 years old Golf.
