STM agents, just saw a weird scene

I just saw a dark blue Corolla driving the wrong way down Maisonneuve downtown, the guy must have been drunk or something cause anyone who was relatively sober would have noticed they were driving against traffic. Right in front of me, he passed an STM agent car, a crown Vic that looked exactly like this:

The STM guys turned on his sirens, lights, did a u-turn and chased after him going the wrong way. By the time he did his u-turn, the Corolla was blocks away, so the guy in the Crown Vic really gunned it going the wrong way down Maisonneuve.

Although I completely agree with stopping such a potentially drunk moron driving the wrong down a busy street, do these guys have the authority to do such things? I thought aside from checking metro/bus tickets, these guys have no rights to drive against traffic or pull over motor vehicles, even if it's to stop completely reckless morons.

So what's the deal with those guys?

In essence, they do NOT! They should of called the SPVM and let them take care of the situation. Metro Police is NOT SPVM. Unless you are in metro/Bus or Bus terminal area, they do not have the power to arrest or "sevir".

If anything, what they did was reckless AND Dangerous!

Pour ton ignorance, ils peuvent intervenir en cas nécéssaire. Ils ne vont pas caller la shot restant la à manger des beignes

i doubt they can do anything. Im sure if a spvm patrol car would see that scene he would ticket both the drunk dood and the stm.

One thing for sure if ever one of these losers from stm try's to pull me over i will lol and continue to drive.

Well, these agents are technically "cops" now.. They get a training at Nicolet, a bit different than the one for regular "patrouilleurs" but still.

Their job has changed a lot over the last 2-3 years..

wrong.

Sorta on the same wavelength, has anyone been flashed(lights+sirens) by an undercover cop?

Once I was slowing down for a light and downshifted hard. A stock looking subaru legacy Infront of me turned his lighs and sirens on, then let me go.

Another time I was on the highway with my bike doing 140ish. I passed a corolla, 2003 or so. I remember when I passed him he pulled into my lane behind me. I look in my mirror a minute later and his headlights were alternate flashing and he was honking and pointing for me to pull over to the side, flashing a badge at me. I shook my head saying "no" and he eventually gave up.

Tous les agents sont en effets formé a l'ecole nationale de police

I"m not sure whether the same holds true in QC, but in Ontario, by law, a police office cannot pull you over, or enforce the law unless they are in full uniform. So undercover is a no-go.

I once had an unmarked cruiser pull me over, with a supervisor driving it. Guy must have had a very bad night or something, since he made me wait for an hour for a marked cruiser and cop whom was on duty to come and issue me with a ticket.

N'importe qui peut faire un "Citizen's arrest" de toute manière.

Ya bien fait de suivre le morron qui roulait à l'envers.

Yétait probablement pas saoul, c'est juste un typique chauffeur de Toyota beige.
