I just saw a dark blue Corolla driving the wrong way down Maisonneuve downtown, the guy must have been drunk or something cause anyone who was relatively sober would have noticed they were driving against traffic. Right in front of me, he passed an STM agent car, a crown Vic that looked exactly like this:
The STM guys turned on his sirens, lights, did a u-turn and chased after him going the wrong way. By the time he did his u-turn, the Corolla was blocks away, so the guy in the Crown Vic really gunned it going the wrong way down Maisonneuve.
Although I completely agree with stopping such a potentially drunk moron driving the wrong down a busy street, do these guys have the authority to do such things? I thought aside from checking metro/bus tickets, these guys have no rights to drive against traffic or pull over motor vehicles, even if it's to stop completely reckless morons.
So what's the deal with those guys?
