So, long story short, I did some research but couldn't find an answer to my question anywhere online.

I recently got laid off my job due to a lack of work and I wanted to know whether or not I'm eligible for unemployment or not.

As a full time student, I worked between 30-34 hours per week.

Can I get unemployment until I find a new job

y/n

please and thank you.

How many hours did you work in the last 52 weeks?

If more than 595 hrs you'll be able to get it.

you need a certain amount oh worked hours in your year,
take the ''cessation emploi'' or whatever its called paper and go to a unemployment office they will tell you exactly if you are elligible or not.

last time i was on this for 3 months 9years ago i had only 50% of what i was making per month at my job.

i think your best bet is to find another job

You said "As a full time student". If you are still a full time student technically no because you are not available for work, you study full time.

But i saw someone who as been refused because he was a full time student, he explained he was working full time AND going to school full time for the last two years so he was able to do both so he was still available for work. It' worked...

Average EI is 55% of your income. So you're better off finding another job. Also, apply ASAP because there's a 2 week grace period where you don't see any money

^^ Oui, fait attention tu doit prouver que tu peux faire les deux. Me rappel avoir eu un peu de trouble avec ça jadis. Horaire irrégulier de travail et école.

I was full time student (25h/week) and somehow managed to receive unemployment checks for 32 weeks. YOLO 800$/ 2 weeks doing nothing. It can be done, you just have to prove you can work whilst going to school.

52 weeks at 30hrs 1560 hrs if you worked half the year you can still get Chomage ! With new law on chomage i dont know if it changed. Full time student no chomage.;

tbh just find a new job. unemployment is for people like marco

To be completely honest, Iv'e missed 3 shifts so far and feel useless as fuck. Iv'e got so much spare time I don't know what to do with myself.

I'm not the type to mooch unemployment because i'm lazy, but right now I can actually use it. Iv'e applied dozens of places already

It's best to apply anyways. That way if you can't find anything for a month you still get some money. It isn't really mooching either since in reality you give a percentage each pay towards EI.
