Polished my valve cover (PICS)

So I've been doing a lot of work under the hood polishing parts this winter (Intake Manifold, Turbo, Throttle Body, etc). Just finished one of my valve covers, thought I'd share a pic of the one I finished.

Started like this:

Ended up like this:

Thanks!

I have a whole polishing kit with different compounds and polishing wheels which I used. Its professional polishing equipment that I've been using for a while now.

The tight spots will need to be done by hand or with a dremel and different tips (felt, steel brush, etc).

The process for polishing depends on a few criteria, like the type of metal (aluminium vs steel), the condition of the metal (rough, pitted, smooth). Most importantly it takes a lot of patience. The valve cover took about 12 hours of work but looks really nice now.

I polished my mags when I bought then , it took me a few months of work doing it all by hand with sandpaper and finishing with polishing pads. Its a long but very rewarding process

telram feel free to add something.

A few more pics of the end result. I still need to paint the coil pack cover and I intend to cut off the excess that covers the Cam Gears.

Merci.
