News: Crash in the west island

Not to cause an argument but isnt that a 70 zone that drops to a 50? Did the cops give you a hard time at all?

Ouch, fortunately you are allright and even though the car is destroyed, your life is more important ;)

Potholes this year are really bad and no matter how hard I try to avoid them, I will hit another one. And they are vicious as fuck too; hiding in the curves and the driving lines. I hit one the other night, turn right on l'Assomption from Sherbrooke, even though I was turning and going not faster than 20, it hit really hard and the check engine light went on. I don't even know if I would've been able to avoid it because it was really hidden in the curve and I'm pretty sure that any pedestrian passing by at night and when it's raining could spray its ankle by not seeing it and walking in it...

Sorry for hijacking your thread ^^'

I had calls from every tv station and newspaper in montreal the day I got hit. I refused to interviews in front of the camera but I'm pretty sure it would help your case if you did. They would definitely be interested

Yup, that's a 50 zone:

At first I was thinking you must be a complete idiot to flip your car from a "pothole". That's almost a lake. There's also no way you could know how deep it was.

Sucks for the car, but glad you're ok. I'd for sure look into at least compensation for the car.

This is disgusting.. I'm happy you're alright. But you should really consider into making this go VIRAL as fuck. These patch up jobs are totally UNACCEPTABLE especially when it comes to near death situations such as yours.

Also. 10$ says they will cover this pothole.. WITH the water still in it(Y) Like a fuckin' baws.

I'd take this shit to CTV. This province needs to wake the fuck up and start realizing that these shitty streets are just as dangerous as speeding/talking on the cellphone.

Glad your okay, now sue them fuckers.

Imagine how dangerous these are for motorcycles if they flip a darn car..

Its funny coz I didnt even read the text and I knew before I start reading that the reason was a pothole *tu*

I know it might look that way, but this is immediately after exiting the highway, I was just starting to slow down.
My car finally stopped probably 100 feet past the pothole, stopped just before the first 50 zone sign.

The cops/firefighters/ambulance drivers were all commenting on how ridiculous that hole was, and the only way they knew to slow down for it on arrival was because of the call made to 911 by the first witness

This is exactly why there's no way I'm taking my Z out right now. A pothole like that, even without flipping over, would cause my car to be VGA. That's fucking retarded, wow. I'm happy to hear you're alright, it's one of those experiences you'll be telling people about for a long time to come ;)

City's fault for having a lake sized pothole, your fault for trying to swerve around it at such high speeds on winter tires on wet-ish roads. When you see a potthole too late, DONT SWERVE. Downshift while slamming the brakes (having your car at 6000rpm in 2nd gear will help avoid your brakes locking up the wheels) and take the hit. You might lose a rim but at least you won't crash. There is not a single way to crash your car that would cost less than buying a new wheel. Also the city would pay for a wheel, they won't pay for a flipped car (hitting a potthole doesn't flip a car, trying to avoid it, still hitting it sideways and then hitting the little curb sideways flips a car)

TL;DR- They are responsible for the potthole. You are responsible for your bad reaction to the potthole.
