Punta Cana, Riviera Maya or other suggestions?

We're a group of 4 dudes in our mid 20's. We're looking to book from May 18th to the 25th.

Cancun would have been ideal, however, it's host to an urban youth festival during those dates. (no racist, just not our scene)

Cuba is out of the question also. Been there too many times.

Any recommendations or suggestions for these two areas?

Looking to meet some bitches, party and relax a bit. looking at minimum 4* places.

Went to riviera maya 2 weeks ago

Was insane , congo bongo is a must to go

Took a decent 4 1/2* ... Was really nice the problem was since it wasn't cheap it was mostly old people or couple ... Went there with friend to make party, was disapointed by the lack of young people to make party with

Do like other said, take a less cheaper hotel and keep money to go to playa del carmel to go in local club youll meet more people there on party that if you were on a resort

FUUUUUUUUU what do you mean by "urban youth festival"?!!! I'm in Cancun for a week starting march 22nd and I fuckin hate hiphop/rap and all this shit.

Good advice. What hotel did you go to?

What hotel did you book? Hopefully none that are listed on their site. From what i've read, as long as you avoid those, it shouldn't be TOO bad. hopefully for you lol

Oh and print their itinerary and avoid those clubs/bars on those nights.

Occidental Grand Xcaret

Was a really nice place, not to many quebecers but 80% of people there is canadian

Resort is really big, pools are nice , lots of activity on the resort.
Really really clean everywhere

The minus, rooms arn't 'insonorisé'' at all and the beach is very small...

Its 10$(CAN) to go to playa del carmel where theres a huge beach directly downtown.

But as I said when I went there 14 Fev to 21... It was mostly older people and couple, not a lot of young people or party was disapointed but still manage to get drunk 24/7 and meet some people (paid 1240$ depart from yqb)

Thing that annoys me about Punta Cana is that you're basically stuck with the people at the resort.

Playa del Carmen (Riviera Maya), makes more sense. But i'm open to suggestions.

@Kirgo if i do end up going to PDC, definitely getting a hotel thats close to the action.

I'm at iberostar cancun.

you should be fine then.

By far the nicest hotel I've been in the region:

http://www.realresorts.com/The-Royal-Playa-Carmen/

Plus it's 30 seconds from the heart of the City and also overlooks the beach.

Fantastic food, drinks, and most importantly, service. Plus you don't get all the douche guys, just a lot of women going on ''all girls week to relax'' so the men to chick ratio is ridiculously good. (Most guys go to Cancun typical hotels or other Playa Del Carmen places)

You will find tons of women at the bar every night and very few group of single guys trying to get some...well aside from you and your friends;)

Plus the hotel gives you a Mini Cooper convertible!

I guess i should have listed a budget huh?

The royal would have been perfect but it's $1000 over our budget of $1300

the mini cooper would have been fun to cruise around in!

X2 about being stuck with people on the resort. I was there in September and wanted to do something different, we drove to the jungle and on the way back had no idea how to get to Cancun. We used a paper map and navigated through rush our traffic. Probably the most stressful driving experience I have ever been through lol, I thought it was bad here but theres like seriously no driving laws over there.

If you had a couple days to waste i'd say check out Cozumel.

If you can affort fthe Royal Playa del Carmen, it is close to the city and not in the "playacar hotels complex" therefore there is more fun quite luxurious hotel and bunch of nice girls :)

I'm looking to book an all inclusive too, but I'm aiming for out of the common - Mexico, Cuba, Dominican - and trying to find something in south Asia or European.A little more difficult to find in budget trips but I'm still looking. Thailand seems to be a front runner.

Could make for a very interesting trip!
