News: Crash in the west island

Heard part of your interview on CJAD, it was a good interview you sounded well versed and composed man great job.
I laughed when the interviewer made MR out to be a place where the ti-coune racers hang out.
He was also trying to make it sound as if you were reckless and speeding and didn't seem to believe you even though he was trying to pretend to be the defense lawyer of the city.
I hope you get the legal help you need and take these assholes to the cleaners. There have been too many members that have had damage done to their cars from potholes and the city/province has basically laughed in their face.

I just logged on to say this. Good luck fighting the City I hope you make them realise that slowing people down doesn't make roads safer, when the road them selves are not safe. GL!

do u know that since the roman empire the only thing that has changed in making roads is the asphalt layer on top

All I gotta say is Wow!
The support is coming in like crazy from the MR community and spilling out everywhere. I googled my name tonight with the word pothole and I'm copying down all the sites who have shared the original story or reposted the CTV/CJAD/CBC stories and I'm at over 30 links.

You guys really came through in sharing this, and I still can't believe how fast it was growing, 42 thousand views in 48 hours!!!

The hard part is just starting though, I'll be contacting Transport Quebec(MTQ) tomorrow to see if they can help me out here with the loss of my car. But my initial feeling from everyone's response is this will be excruciatingly difficult.
I'm not making up stories and claiming disability or suing for every penny I can get, I just want compensation to buy an equivalent or better replacement vehicle(all I have ever owned are used cars). I'm most certainly NOT marching up to them and saying I want something brand new from the dealer.

well good job spreading the word. When I got my accident I didn't want to be on camera so my story died pretty quick but maybe your could get you some $$ to get a better car ! (not knocking on the civic, just talking about an upgrade)

iphone bro.

I feel bad for you and what you have gone through, but I am calling a little bit of BS on this.

It is not a pothole...it is a layer of asphalt that has peeled off from the under layer, resulting in a 1 to 1.5 inch drop at the most...nowhere anywhere close to require such an evasive maneuver that would cause you to flip a car. I drove over that exact same hole a week ago, same as the cars in the news report who are going over it without flipping their cars, and it was nowhere near being as deep or dangerous as you make it out to be. Don't get me wrong, I am not defending transport Quebec on this issue, as the conditions of our roads are indeed inadequate, however I think you are looking for an excuse to justify your driving error by pointing the finger at someone else.

Instead of manning up to an obvious driving error, you cry to the first person who will hand you a tissue and rub your back. Maybe you should run to Fox news next, they love this type of stuff.

Sorry for the reality check, but I just had to get it off my chest.

Love seeing how the hole was deep!
Filled with water, it barely "shook" the Hyundai! 1:15

Sounds like you got lots of attention for basically a typical pothole. Good for you! But I hope they don't "inspect" your tires and shocks before they decide to compensate because you might just get more than you bargained for. Not too smart to say you picked up a note reminding you to change your tires.

This being said, I was not there, but sometimes trying to avoid an accident causes a worse accident. With the current proof, I believe this is the case!

Ps... Are you fully insured? Your insurance will take care of this and then duke it out with the city. It should not be your problem!

It does not fucking matter wether the hole was super deep or not.

The slap accross the face, portraying MTL as the badly maintained shit hole it prides itself to be is exactly what it needs right now.

When you hit a giant pothole and fuck your rims up you can sue the city even if your car isn't thrown into a flip but no one ever does it so no one learns anything.

This is a lot better.

Wow i can't believe people are defending Qc roads....LOL

Guys thats a problem wheather it would flip a car or not! Imagine going over that on a daily basis.....
