A few months ago I was driving around in downtown Montreal, I was using the keypad in my car to dial a number, and some cop knocks on my window and tells me I'm not allowed to type in phone numbers on the keypad thing of my center console. Said it's like having a cell phone in your hands and that he should give me a ticket instead of a warning. That being said I understand that driving while on your cell is dangerous, and that laws should be enforced and tickets should be doubled for people who text while they drive, but now it's getting to a point where it's 9 points off for just having a phone in your car and being told off that a feature in my car is illegal.
If your wondering what I'm talking about its the numbers on the right side of the screen.

i dont think that'll fly in court.
friend of mine had his iphone mounted to the dash, he was dialing a number at a red light and was pulled over for it.
contested it, went to court, and because he didn't hold it in his hand he was acquitted.
