Pris avec un détecteur de radar

What do u mean why?....

He knew u had a detector because the CBSA saw u had one and they told the SQ your cars plate # and model and the SQ just waited for u on the side of the road to pull u over a few hundred meters down to confiscate it & make some dollabillz because its illegal.

Where is the "why" in the story that u dont understand?

What you are supposing makes sense but I don't think this is the case honestly. I don't think they communicate that kind of information between each others. What about the americans that crosses the borders?
And what about if I tell you that he pulled me over 1 hour after crossed the borders? He pulled me over on the 13 in Laval... Anyways i'm just really confused and fuck him!
 
Then there is something missing in ur story or i dunno. What i said is the only logical answer unless u had it plugged.

And yes they communicate that info..... Its one short phone call to someone working for the same team.

Well thats weird then. I assume that its pure bad luck that he arrested you for verification AND THEN saw the ''suces'' on your windshield and assumed it was for an RD and wanted you to admit of your terrible crime.

Je suis pas mal certain que tu aurais du tenir ton bout car il n'avais pas de preuve, juste un doute. Mais bon, tu a voulu être honnête et gentil et personne peut te blamer pour ca. Le policier a confisquer le RD? Ticket avec ca?

Although it sounds unusual, it's still plausible considering its an easy 650-ish$ ticket plus confiscation of an "illegal" object. Wouldn't be surprised if it was simply radio-ed out to all SQ's to be on the look out for a silver genesis coupe going to Laval with xxxxxx plate for a radar detector.

Like I said, it's the only logical answer especially since the cop came forward directly with "i know you have a detector" and his detector wasn't plugged in.

There is no other possibility if there is nothing else to the story given.

What happened isn't that hard to accomplish.

1) CBSA saw radar but not their authority.
2) Quick 1-minute phone call to contact the correct authority (SQ) and give info about car/direction going.
3) SQ just radios out the info.
4) On the lookout for Grey genesis, see it, plates match, pull over.

Not crazy considering the illegality of radar detectors and large/easy/incontestable ticket it entails.

Although there are a lot of Genesis coupes on the road, they still easily standout compared to the regular, larger number econobox traffic.
 
^^ Yeah makes sense. Maybe there was no sq cops near the borders anyway.

Moral of the story, when you pass the borders, hide everything in sight and if they search your car, keep the RD in your pocket. Or try to hide it in an unsusual place in the car.

I'm ''happy'' to hear stories like that tho cause I just learned something. Not happy for the OP tho.

Oui toute le kit: ticket, confisque le RD, le plug. Y ma laissé les suces -.-'
 
Anyways, I might start to go more often so i'll drop it before the borders at the freeport thing I know the lady there. Fml

The border officers saw his radar detector when they searched his car at the border. All they did was communicate the information the proper authorities (sq), give them the plate # and description of the car and the cop just waited on the side of the road to pull you over and do his job.

prochaine fois achete toi une radio don't tu peut enlever le front face, vide l'interieur de la radio et mets ton detecteur de radar dedans, ou bien un reveil matin et garde la boite, personne ne va questioner un reveil matin a $15 fait au dremel
 
Some owners of expensive RDs also carry a broken RD they bought cheap on ebay in case they ever get stopped by a jealous cop who "saw it".

This way u can give him the broken RD quickly n just contest the ticket in court showing the court it's nonoperational and saving u ur expensive RD n the ticket!

Not true. They cant open it if its in transit via the post office. if you haven't dropped it off to canpost they can do what they want
 
Detecteur de detecteur ca existe. Pas tout les policiers s'en serve car c'est pas super conviviale. Par exemple si dans le trafic la police detecte un detecteur ca va biper mais il saura pas quel voiture a le detecteur. Il faut alors qu'il suive le trafic et qu'il y aille par élimination jusqu'a ce qu'il pogne le bon gars.

Si tes tout seul sur une route perdu pis tu croise une police alors t'es fait.
 
The CBSA is not going to waste time calling the SQ for that. Radar detectors are not illegal in Canada so CBSA will not say anything when they see one in a car. They are a Federal agency, not provincial. And even at that, they are not illegal in Quebec, they are illegal to have in your car in Quebec.

Either the SQ detected somebody else and stopped him instead or saw the suction mount cups when they pulled him over. As simple as that.

Exact, sauf que...

c'est qui l'épais qui va utiliser un RD détectable au QC en 2013...C'est vraiment chercher le trouble. Déja que les policiers pogne les newbies avec des RD indetectable juste en observant leurs comportement routiers...

Tk je l'utilisais aux US puisque c'était légal et parce que c'est permi aux US. Je suppose que les laser jammers c'est également interdit au Québec? Si personne en a je suppose que c'est interdit! Incroyable comment notre province est ridicule. Mais qu'est-ce que l'Alberta a de plus que le Québec en tant que compétence? Pourquoi eux auraient le droit mais nous?
