I talked to the cops again, The cop that took my info that night is "on training" for 4 days then off work 4 days.
So anyways the message I got was that unless somebody stumbles upon it that it won't get found.
I said that I might as well go out and look for it myself, and the officer said "by all means go ahead".
So the cops don't really work for us. The whole "To serve and protect" motto is basically fucking bullshit to put it bluntly.
Even the auto squad isn't out there "searching" for stolen vehicles I was told. Apparently they don't have the manpower to do so. Also they don't do bait cars to catch thieves in the act.

for a cop to drive around SOLELY looking for your car would be trying to find a needle in a haystack
all stolen recovered cars are just stumbled upon by accident
sorry to say bro but your car is probably already all chopped up and long gone
hope for your sake you were insured for theft
Obviously not solely for my car, but the auto theft unit should be out there looking in areas of the city for cars that are on a list of known stolen cars. A modded s2000 doesn't blend into the mix like a civic or integra.
The fact that they don't make an active effort to bait these thieves in high theft areas to shut down these rings is a joke, and gives the crooks free reign jack people's cars out of public lots with no surveillance.
What kind of society do we live in where we can't even go out for dinner and a movie with our girlfriend or wife because your car will be gone after you come out? That's not an acceptable standard of living in a modern country like Canada. Something needs to be done ASAP to minimize the risk and make it not worthwhile for crooks to steal people's cars in the first place.

correct me if i'm wrong but I think bait cars are not allowed in Canada, just like certain States in the US.
Anyways, good luck with your s2k

The colossus parking lot here in laval is also a known spot for thieves.

Thing I dont understand is that 95% of the parts on the car wont work on another honda. everything is so specific to the car... The s2000 community is small also, somebody is going to notice the parts for sale. Its not like a civic or integra where everything works cross platform.
Exactly, you cant bait anyone in Canada.
