Thanks!

It,s hard to think about updating these threads all the time and let me tell you. It's even harder not to strip the sealant and put a swissvax wax on it :p

Un autre mois.. rendu au 5eme.

Toujours le même shine.. Alero 2003. Nous sommes en 2012. L'auto a donc 9 ans. Ça parrais-tu ? :p

2 months later.. down to 7 months. Just a proof that its possible to keep a sweet finish on your car even tho you don't wash it every week in winter.

So I start by decontaminant the car with Iron-X:

I also clayed the car:

I then did a 1-step polish with Menzerna and followed by Swissvax Cleaner fluid by hand:

and after:

2months later, water still sheet well but doesn’t bead as much ( to be expected, usually if it sheet, it doesn’t bead much). Remember I told you the car had a tough time with the rain and tree fallout? It showed quite good when I saw my mirror were trying to turn grey (meaning there was oxidation and means that the wax isn’t protecting anymore)

I think everyone will agree that Shield should last more than 2 months. Same goes for 4x4. So maybe my environnement was just too tough for any wax. So I decide to redo the test shield Vs. 4x4 and I expect this time to last more than 2 months!

In front of the car it was visible but for some reason, I couldn’t capture it very well..

See does debris stuck on the paint ? It took me 30 minutes to remove! Remember when I say the car went trough tough times lol!
dsc1976f.jpg

Even IronX couldn’t do anything on them!

Can I say that Raceglaze pre-wax is easier to remove than cleaner fluid? Applied the same but way easier to remove, less grappy.

And here some water behaviour pictures:

And here’s the final picture after letting the wax cure 4 hours in the sun:

That it for the upgraded reviews!

Sorry about that :

Almost a month later, like 29 days apart.

its holding like day 1:

dsc2869e.jpg

Make cleaning bug and debris a lot easier too! maybe the PTFE is no gimmick after-all!

dsc2871o.jpg

This is my aquapel holding after 14 months. very good durability right there.

I wanted to do a little review about 3 wax I had the opportunities to try. I had applied Zymol Vintage on my car 2 month ago. Then a friend of mine offered me 2 try 2 different waxes so I gladly took his offer. The 2 were : Definitive wax Show and Chemical Guys Lava.

What I did is polish with Swissvax paint cleanse the left side and driver side and left the center untouched.

What I can say about Show: Slight fruity smell. To be honest, I much prefer the smell of Number one and Club edition. Texture is also softer than the 2 other waxes but not as soft as Vintage or lava ( lol!). Applied super easily, spread very oily and buffed easily. After 1 month, I can say the beading is way better with Show than lava and a bit better than 2 month old Vintage.

Lava: smelled great and similar to V7 spray sealant. Texture is different than anything else, its not liquid like a liquid wax , its really a pudding.. problem is that its really easy to over-apply it and waste the product which in turns also make it harder to buff out. I can also say that after 1 month sheeting/beading is almost dead. Maybe I didn’t get the application right but for 80$, I was not happy with the performance.. I wouldn’t pay more than 25$ for this, but then again, I’m ony judging this with one application and one half panel..

so yeah.. left side is driver side, and right side is.. ( duhh) passenger side.

I couldn’t really complete the test because I went on with my winter prep detail, but I would say definitive wax and Vintage won that review. Right now, my winter prep detail is still showing beading after 6 months which is fantastic because it does exactly what it had to do ; protection your paint all winter long while improving the gloss of your paint at the same time.
