Getting tired of f*ckin thieves, need info on home camera surveillance

So far ive been reading on the Q-see systems ATgrills suggested and i like what im seeing!

Alot of reviews, videos on youtube, the company offers lifetime support on their product, iphone and android integration and a kit with 4 cams is like 350$ (then you can add all kinds of options if you want to)

I still don't know if im going to buy that kit but my first move is definitly to go and buy 2 of the most powerful motion sensored flood lights i can find and install them (plus they will help with the camera system at night if i buy it)

do you have any outdoor cams? How did they hold up and perform with the cold over winter?

50 gal compressed air tank @ 150-180 PSI + 130dB 5-trumpet train horns (or better: ferry horns) hidden at head level in your garage/lobby/wherever they break in + electric valve triggered by motion detection + remote to turn it on/off = guaranteed that will be the last time they break into your house (or any house).

costco has a nice kit for 500$ weatherproof

720p cameras w/ night vision
motion detect sends you emails
can watch from your smartphone

I have this kit since 1 year or so :

Looks like yours Mike

It's weather proof, survived weather\rain\wind without no problems at all.
You can monitor\record streams from your iPhone.
It records in loop on a 500GB HD (4 cams recording 24/7/) you have an history of ~15 days.
Night vision works for 10-15 feet.
You can program motion detection, etc, fully customizable.
You can access the feed from the internet tho, they provide you a subdomain on their domain (kguard.org) so that's nice too.

So ive been robbed inside my car again, it happened a few times over the last few years. I got my hubcaps on my winter rims stolen, someone tried forcing the garage door.

All this in like the last 5 years and im getting tired of this sh*t

Does anyone here have any info or experience on home surveillance cameras?
I need something for outdoors, possibly with an hard drive and would like to be able to check it on my phone

What do you people use?
