Must-do's in Orlando and Daytona beach?

I'm going to Orlando with my girl for 5 days. Will visit Walt Disney and Universal Studio and spend a day at Daytona Beach. Anything that we should not miss??

Daytona is a shithole IMO. I went with interns from work, which was the ideal venue for that (drunken skinny-dipping screaming/yelling madness), but as far as restaurants and entertainment goes...there are 2-3 ok restaurants at the pier (bubba gump shrimp, a burger place and...actually, there are only 2 okay restaurants and one of them is a franchise) and nothing else much to do? They had some fireworks one night...Beer special another.

Overall, I think there are much nicer beaches in Florida. Also, not to forget that cars are allowed on Daytona beach, which are loud and kick up sand and such. Not the ideal venue to go with your girlfriend.

Disney is great, especially with your girlfriend. Book an extra day there instead and try to stay on the Disney resort, their transport system rivals most public transit systems (including Montreals).

If you're not staying at Disney, hotwire a room nearby. For the last night before we left on our cruise (which is also a good thing to look into) we hotwired a room near Disney (right outside the park) for $40, and it was actually a really nice hotel.

Premium outlet mall is also a must, even if you don't like shopping. Your girlfriend will trip over that. I got a couple pairs of 7 jeans for $80 each I think? Ralph Lauren stuff ultra cheap, etc.
 
Daytona was a blast before the hurricanes hit it. I use to go down often for bike week and catch the races at the Speedway. But if you're there just for a visit, relax on the beach and maybe go for a tour at the Daytona Speedway.
 
5 days is really way to little time to spend in this area

you\ll get an idea of what;s there to do and stuff but that's about it.

Daytona's nothing special, I'd skip it if I were you. If you want a nice quiet day on the beach just go to Cocoa beach instead, about 45min-1h from Orlando.

I went to the Daytona 500 circuit and it's pretty cool, definitely worth it if you're in the area but having only 5 days total I don't think I'd go to Daytona just for that.

In Orlando besides the obvious Disney and Universal (about 7 full days to see Disney properly (minimum) and 2 for Universal) you have Seaworld and its water park (Aquatica) another 2 days. Bunch of great outlet malls. International drive is packed with restaurants, shopping and other small amusement parks/attractions (dinner shows, ripleys, themed mini-golfs, titanic experience and others). Another few days I'd day, unless you're rushing every day from one to another.

With 5 days only you'l have to really pick what you wanna do and structure your days very well. There's not much traffic but things are not THAT close from one another and when getting in and out of parks there's always little waits so time really adds up.
 
thanks for the advice guys. after what you said we might skip daytona beach. we might spend 2 days at disney and 1 at universal studio. one day in a beach and 1 day visiting orlando and the outlets. will post pictures!

Daytona ! Tu dois frapper le fuzzy version américain le razzle lol,pour vrai si cest pas pour te paiter la face et déambuler avec un 60onze a la main sur la beach a 4am il y a pas grand chose a faire.

Il devrait juste passer son temps a orlando ya plein de ptite place de couple dans ce coin la

Ahhhh Razzles! I can't believe I forgot about that trainwreck! Probably the most akward dance floor ever, it's 4 feet below the main floor, so all these creepers just stand around and stare. I was there with 20 good looking girls and it was fucking weird. Also, they allow smoking so it was like a cloud inside.

On the plus side, $4 gets you half a solo cup of liquor. Dun got fugged up!

But yea skip Daytona if possible. The main stretch along the beach is pretty depressing it goes something like: liquor store, run down hotel, closed hotel, motel, hotel, hoetel, repeat for 3 miles.

Go to Cap Canaveral (1 hour from Orlando, 15min north of Cocoa Beach) if you can and visit NASA Kennedy Space Center.
