Engine bay detail - hoses and plastics

I bought some engine brite today and hit up my bay. It looks a lot better, but plastics and hoses don't look great. I've heard about using Armor All or tire shine, but I don't want them to dry out and get full of dust.

Online, all I can really find recommended for this kind of job is 303 protectant. I don't imagine that's sourced locally, so does anybody else have any suggestions of what I can pick up around here?

Thanks!

You can pick 303 at KNS. It doesn't do a goog job with hoses tho. I could recommend some products but you will have to buy online.

Ah really? They stock that there?

Not really interested in ordering anything, it's more just a weekend project kind of thing.

Yup they do :). I'll just stick to 303 then unless mr autoglym pops in and recommends an autoglym product.

You could try the AutoGlym Vinyl and Rubber, but I would recommend a silicone based product for places with high temps such as an engine bay. Black wow works great.

Any local sources for black wow? Looks impressive from what I can see.

Not that I know of, but I can order it for you on the next order I'm putting through (assuming it's not on back order) which should be some time in the next few weeks.

Wow very nice of you to offer! I probably will not bother though and just pick something up locally; it's not for a show car or anything, just for my DD that I wanted to clean up for fun.

go with 303 at KNS.

I'll try and drop by there sometime next week and pick some up. *tu*

I use autoglym engine detailer to clean then wipe down with autoglym vinyl care.

I use to wipe down with silicone lubricant (spray can). It worked but over time it would collect dust and gunk up.
