This thread is ment to warn you guys about this business.
Here is my story:
I bought a Extreme Dimention SRT 8 Hood for my Dodge Charger on march 26th at carid.com which was suppose to be in stock.
Extreme dimention took 2 weeks and a half to ship my order due to " additional quality inspection "
I finaly got my hood on april 17th, deception. A corner of the hood is damaged near the hinges side and the protective wood is broken.
It is pretty weird because the box is intact and the broken piece of wood was not in the box. It was wrapped like that. At this point I know that this was broken before boxing and shipping.
Well, I did not make a case ou of it. I called Carid to try to get a partial refund so it can help me to cover the cost of the damages. They said they would fill a report and hit me back with it.
At this point I don't expect much from them and the damage was not that bad ( see pics ).
So I brought the hood to the body shop to have it repaired and painted. The body shop sanded the hood to repair it and prep for painting and guess what... It’s an old used hood good for garbage!!!!
In addition to the hood damages I spoke,
- The fiberglass is all cracked (under the primer coat) and the hood had excessive heat where the headers of the car are normally located under the hood.
- Plus the hood already had holes (where the windshield washer nozzles are normally and the hatch) which they were filled and recoated with primer.
- Also when we look at the picture on the website we see a little rubber that goes around the air vent hole in the hood which is used to make a nice smooth contour and transition between fiberglass and grill. Well that part is missing too leaving a rough and poor result.
I feel like I've been scammed. I paid 546.00$ for a brand new hood, plus I paid 97.04$ for the customs. And now I have to pay my Body Shop for the sanding they did on the hood. What I get is a used, damaged hood that was intentionally disguised too look like new. And missing some parts.
I called back CarId today and they don't seems to want to do something about it. So I called Extreme Dimention to let them know what was happening in case of a bad employee doing is job bad could lead to a bad reputation. Guess what, they told me to fuck off and to deal with car id. I was very polite with them and I was expecting some kinds of explications.
I'm calling today my credit card to get a charge back on that transaction. Hope I'll recover the 546$. But I will still loose money because of them.
I wanted to warn you guys not to order there as they are a very bad business to deal with.
here are the pics taken the day I received the hood. I will have more pics from the body shop so you guys could see that under the primer this is a used finished hood and good for garbage.
Look at the box which is intact
