Insurance for cars with mods void with CAI?

Declared my swap today (because Murphy's Law), coverage (1-way+theft) = 1100. Not bad! I don't see what y'all niggaz is complaining about.

Lmao at all the replies!!!

But all jokes asside. The rep told me that if an accident happens and they find out you had undeclared performance mods, the company can legally decline coverage.

He actually said smth like " all those kids with their JDM cars who dont declare shit are f***** So if you fall asleep and fly into a porsche dealership and hit a pillar that causes the whole building to collapse ( they assume its because of the CAI) and they will refuse to pay....

not true.
declare mods upon accident, get everything back

When I asked my broker about parts he told me I don't have to declare anything under 3000$.

My dad never declared any mods on his 300c and when the front end got hit, the dealer actually replaced the aftermarket parts.

Thats what i was told word to word.

K i actually did research and all this nonsence is because i am with Td MM..
They just dont deal with modded cars. Others do.

As for raising insurance even for a CAI, it's the type of driver. Everyday drivers buy a car and don't mess with it. If you mod your car you get thrown into the group of "tuners" who is more likely to have a claim than the average driver and so they hit your wallet.

Fair...no, but what do you expect from the fucking theives.

Also my experience with TD MM (Engineer + Multi Product discount) is that their price is ridiculous, at least 20% cheaper than the next company.

True, it's not about the cost of the part itself. In the case of a CAI there's probably not a significant price difference between OEM and aftermarket. It's more about the attitude of someone who modifies their car vs someone who dosen't.

My insurance asked me if I had any modification, listed the whole bunch and the lady just said: ok.
Same coverage
Same price
No hassle
Why is it so retarded for you guys?
