BMW West Island DOESN'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS! (Another bad review)

Wanted to get my alignment done, so I called BMW first thing this morning around 9am.

I left a message on the answering machine of some service adviser. 3 Hours later, no call back. Typical how they didn't answer the phone.

So I called again, once again leaving a message on some service adviser's answering machine. And once again, 5 hours later, still no call back (no call back by 6pm).

I think it's safe to say, BMW West Island doesn't want our business.

Though I would share, yet another shitty experience with BMW West Island.

Save your time, effort and money and bring your baby elsewhere.

That was the last straw for that shit hole.

BMW Laval is an extra 30 minutes from my place, and I WILL GLADLY MAKE THE EXTRA TREK TO AVOID BMW WEST ISLAND.

Hope this deters a few people from going.

Why didn't you book the appointment online on their website?
And why would you go to the dealership for an alignment?
There are so many other places to go to around the west-island for cheaper.

I made some long posts about that place in another thread.
It's such a shitty place on terms of service so steer away from it.

Speaking of which, I need to find a good alignment shop. Anyone know one?
Alignement Garbis is great, very professional. They also use the Hunter Engeneering system which seems to be very precise. Did my alignement there last week. *tu**tu*

Go to bmw laval!!! I just went today, walked in, no apt, they were busy as hell. I got amazing service, left super happy. Would really recommend. FYI i live in downtown mtl and yes i still go to laval because both canbec and west island are... Well like you said :)

- Why would I go to BMW for an alignment?
Simple, I worked at BMW Jalbert before it closed. I know the procedure with sandbags and I haven't found one Indy shop that use the bags of lead plates. I hate a tracking car, I hate a crooked steering wheel and most of all, I hate tire wear. So if I pay a bit more for a OEM alignment, it's done properly and as intended from the factory.

- Why not book it online?
If they can't answer the phone or return a call, you think they would be able to return an email or schedule in an apt properly? I call bs on that. Too many people are relying on online application and forms when dealing with someone on the phone is a dying art. The more people I deal with on a daily basis, the more I see society is becoming mentally retarded. Service advisors intentionally being rude to women, salesmen lying through their teeth to sell cars, managers promising deals and rebates then reneging.

- Are Mondays the busiest day?
This time of year, absolutely. Is that an excuse to provide NO service? Absolutely not. If you're busy, it's because you have work, and if you want to get more work, provide service. The very basic application of service is returning a phone call, which BMW west island is clearly unable to do. I've had my phone on me all morning and still no call back. There is no excuse to not return a call to a client, ever. The client is calling to give you money for your services, and by not calling them back, you're clearly stating that their money is not wanted/needed.

- Maybe the service advisor was sick?
Possibly, but both times I called, I left messages on 2 different voicemails for 2 different people. I also forgot to mention I called back and spoke to the air head behind the counter and asked her to have a service advisor phone me. She took my number and assured me a call back in a brief delay. That was 48 hours ago.

I think that the word is being spread quite well. For those who haven't dealt with them yet, don't and go to Laval. For those who dealt with them, like myself, GAME OVER.

I tried calling service last week with no reply as well. I literally showed up and there were two service advisors sitting there who didn't even acknowledge my presence until I made it very apparent. I am usually pretty patient in this kind of situation, but their lack of competence is astonishing. I will never bring my car to that specific dealer again for maintenance. As others have said, BMW laval is pleasant to deal with in that department from past experiences.

Aucun rappelle pour l'instant. Je vais vous gardez au courant sur quand et si ils décident de me rappeler. Je suis prêt à parier que je vais jamais recevoir de rappelle.

Jeff, I had that exact same issue. I went, stiff in front of the desk while they spoke about baseball and waited... Waited over 2 minute while they f@&ked the pooch and then said "you guys have to be kidding". They were shocked I said something. Did they know I was there? Yes, one of them said "just a moment"... Bunch of clowns.

I know BMW Canada has an account on MR, and I hope they get wind of this thread. Since very dealer is independently owned, I don't think that much will get done, but perhaps a stern letter from BMWC letting the dealership manager know he's losing business by the shit ton because of incompetent employees ruining their reputation.

I've gotten 3 thanks for starting this thread and sharing this shitty experience. I'm happy to know people are reading this and understanding the seriousness. We pay top dollar for service and parts and demand proper service in return, not to be treated like 3rd class citizens.

That's the exact same procedure done at BMW Laval. Call them. Be happy.

Lee, I know BMW Laval does alignments with the sandbags and lead plates, but before this incident, I dealt with BMW west island or Jalbert when it was open for them. I wanted to avoid driving the extra 25 minutes for nothing.

Following this bs with BMW west island, I will gladly drive the extra 25-30 minutes for the alignment ( which I have done twice a year). I'll even drive to Ottawa if that's the only way to avoid them.

I want to clear one thing though. Indy shops do a great job on alignments, I wasn't saying they don't, they're just not equipped to do the alignments by the BMW protocol. If they would be equipped with the plates and bags, I would use them and save the 70$ difference between the dealer and the Indy.
