Help getting tickets daily in Chicago.

Was supposed to fly but I decided to drive down to Chicago instead.

Big mistake it seems. I've received two tickets in two days for "incorrect or expired license plate stickers". These are issued by parking attendants so nearly every time I go anywhere I come back with one of these tickets on the windshield.

Its state law in Illinois to have valid registration stickers on your license plate, but there haven't been registration plate stickers in QC since 1992.

I've been looking everywhere for an official statement concerning QC laws on license plate stickers so I can contest the fines, but I cant find shit on SAAQ website...

What theyre looking for(little stickers on top right)

Try and reach the Illinois PD? or the city? It makes no sense that you would have to pay them..

I did, spoke to police.

I have two options,

contest in person, but that usually takes a few weeks and I won't be in town for the hearing.

By mail, but if I contest this way I really need some kind of official statement that proves license registration stickers are not required in QC. Since its been over 20 years that license stickers in QC don't exist, finding any kind of information related to this is impossible. I'm not sure if a copy of my registration and a letter with no other proof is going to be enough...

I'm here for six more days and this might get expensive reeeeeal fast

Ya no shit? Maybe leave one of the tickets under yer wiper every time you park it? Thats annoying i know but might stop the bleeding for a bit? I drove through illinois a bunch of time and the first time i did, i didn't bring any cash for the tolls.. so they had to take my plate down and give me a receipt to pay it online... No big deal, but once online theres no option to pay as a canadian resident! I havnt heard anything in over 5 years... Did you try calling the SAAQ?

Just checked my wallet, it says on the back of the registration that plate stickers are no longer used by the SAAQ. You're in the clear.
