SAAQ Damage Compensation

So, in February some jerk smashed my car while I was sleeping in a hit and run. The SAAQ evaluator passed by at the beginning of march to assess my damages (which was horseshit, but anyway) and told me I'd hear back from the SAAQ in a few weeks, but that it was a long process.

Long story short, it's the end of April and I haven't heard from them. I've tried calling the agents responsible for my file, the general numbers, and they all go straight to voicemail. My messages have not been returned at all, and I'm sick of looking at my smashed door and quarter.

Anybody else been in this situation? Was it really this long? The accident happened on the 22nd of February, and I just want it to be fixed. Considering that when the SAAQ needs me to pay my registration and license they give me a fixed deadline, I would expect at least a response from them, considering it probably takes 5 minutes for somebody to look at my file and the evaluators pictures and give me the OK (permission) to get it fixed.

That whats really bugs my balls, we pay and pay and pay and this is the service we get from the SAAQ? Makes me want to go to the SAQ instead.

I would at least expect the people that we're paying for with our tax dollars who are working to provide a public service to answer there phones, or at LEAST call me back! I have called on multiple occasions, different times of the day, and they don't even consider picking up; instead it goes straight to their answering machines.

I'm sure if you make several complaints something will get done. Unfortunately time will be wasted..

Its a long process and it's spring they're busy.
Sometimes I wonder if they do it on purpose to discourage people

I was victim of a hit&run on the 31st of January and got only last week the ok from my Insurance that the SAAQ and SPVM and whoever this shit cluster festival pertains too that I'm not responsible and won't get a deductible... my appointment at the garage is next week. Also very tired of smashed front-end/quarter panel...

Thanks for chiming in all of you. Damn, so it looks like I've got a few more weeks to wait.

Not responsible and no deductible? I guess you probably have 2 way insurance. With my 1 way they basically assured me I'd be responsible for at least $500 worth of repairs, + because the rear quarter had already been repaired for rust (and the hit shattered the fibreglass that was there) the evaluator tried to tell me that I'd have to pay a lot more than that, because "nobody will cover your rust".

What a process.
