Broken transmission because mexico

So... as the title says, I decided give drag racing a try at my local race track in Mexico.

first run everything went well. clocked a 16.2@86.67 on my 100%stock land barge.

second run - pull up to the light tree, put it in first then go for it when its the time to do so,only to hear a loud bang and find out that not a single fucking gear engages.

the car was running fine untill that point. no weird noises at all before it broke. the sudden stress put upon it broke something, most likely the gear selector because i am stuck in neutral.

here is where i need your help.
can the gearbox be rebuilt or is it better/cheaper to just buy a used gearbox instead?

At this point its safe to safe that money will be spent.

Either way it will cost you about 800-1500 depending what you get and what went bad. Much better getting it rebuilt in its entirety if you can with OEM everything.

Jap shop transmissions are used, sure low miles but used. So no guarantee it was taken care of even with low miles.

=/ gotta pay to play.

I''ll try to get it towed to a shop nearby so at least i know what i broke.

fuck me, i knew i shouldnt have raced lol it was fun, but was it worth it? i dont think so.

it's broken because you suck at driving... You got to release a bit the clutch before going BWAAAHH!! If you don't well you know what happens

^ dont hate me. i am no ti-coune with a rusted out/riced POS.

the owner before me did not give 2shits about the car. it was going to break sooner or later i think.

The same thing sort of happened to me, excpet I blew an axle. I was able to move about the gears freely even though my foot wasn't on the clutch, like I was stuck in neutral. So if you're in a similar situation, it won't cost you more than couple hundred bones.

I've taked with a few mecanic friends ( one of them is a test driver for benz in argentina, so he should know what broke since his job is to break shit up) and he told me that it is the clutch. yes i know that it is only over the phone and he did not actually check the car, but im sending the car to a shop nearby tomorrow. The clutch was already getting tired before my (lack of) skill broke it. With labor and all it should cost me about 500$.

ps: the way that the previous owner ( one of my brothers ) treated the car, i am sure that the owner before him did the same thing as him.... fuck all. I would not be surprised if it still has the original clutch.

thanks for the info anyway, i'll come back when it is fixed.

car got fixed, finally i broke the cardan
