Eh oui, une véritable 500e, si vous ne connaissez pas:
C'est une Benz conçue et construite en association avec Porsche. Étant proprio d'une Sportline, laissez moi vous dire que celle-ci me donne des papillons à l'estomac!!! Dommage que le proprio n'a pas pris la peine de prendre de belles photos afin de lui rendre justice!!!!

This Benz is disigned and build in collaboration with Porsche. I own a Sportline and let me tell you this thing has me drooling/mixed emotions!!!
Shame the owner did not even take the time to take proper pictures to give it justice!!!!

From 1990 to 1994 (model years 1991–1994), Mercedes-Benz sold a high-performance version of the W124, the Mercedes-Benz 500 E (W124.036). The 500 E was created in close cooperation with Porsche; each 500 E was hand-built by Porsche, being transported back and forth between the Mercedes plant and Porsche's Rossle-Bau plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany during assembly — taking a full 18 days to complete each model. Design began in 1989 and into 1991.[2] Called '500 E' through model year 1993, for model year 1994 it was face-lifted along with the rest of the range and renamed to 'E 500'.

It is little-known, but 120 cars were produced between January and approximately May 1995, as last-request cars for special customers before the series ceased production. These last cars were produced in the Porsche Rossle Bau building alongside Audi RS2 sport wagons, as that production contract went into full swing with the same work-staff that built the 500E and E500.

indeed, specially when you realize the quality of build of the w124's and how unfortunate it is that it was the PEAK of Mercedes. At that point in history the board of directors had a sit down and came to the conclusion ''Who the fuck is going to keep a car for 40 years??? These cars are of too high quality and made to last too long, we need to cut back!''

But true enthousiast designers and engineers (the racing breed) pushed out these last few unique and spectacular models, which are godly in comparison of what we got next, the w210 e55AMG, yes pretty cool, and then the w211 e55AMG, since, all we got is a plastic fantastic (but amazing sounding c63)...

Nice find! These are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO rare in Canada... A few more available in the US & a shitload in Germay... These where THE 90s supersedan if autobahn prowess was your priority... Spotted a black one on monoblocs like the one in the OP a few weeks back in the public parking across from la boum/Paré on Stanley... Would buy...
 
That car has been for sale forever. I remember seeing it on craigslist in August 2012.

It's a great car, but definetaly a hard sell in QC market. He would have better luck listing it internationally.

What year was his 400E, never heard of anyone ever having problems with w124's unless they really avoided doing any maintenance...

True, but on an international level, why would anyone ever go out of their way to buy one that's seen our shitty winters :(


sgsr20 I know the owner of the black one, neat freak, he had almost every engine component/accessorie chromed black, he wouldn't let the car for 50k$ lol
I do see this thing as being ''the supersedan'', have not seen any cars come out since that era that are remotely close to the quality and performance (combo) of the hopped up w124's :p

FYI: j'ai vérifié au concessionnaire ce qu'il faudrait afin d'avoir les ailes et tout ce qu'il faut afin de donner le look de la 500E sur ma 300E, ouch. je répète: OUCH!

C'est terrible comment ces mags se sont faits ''rape'' par la communauté VW :( Triste même, ces roues méritent d'être sur quelque chose d'RWD au moins :(

I saw one last year at PortPlus shop, color is similar. I wonder if it is the same car...It is a special Benz.
 
rare, mais c'est une 1993. les 1994 sont mieux avec leurs bumper et lumières changés. Apres mes études, sa va soit etre une 500E soit une 2.5 16V comme voiture d'été c'est sur !

Y'avait justement une E60 AMG a vendre sur le site de Garagecurrent (dealer d'euro japonais) a environ 45 000$ US.

Sinon, tu peux toujours envoyer une 500E chez Brabus, ils font encore la restauration + modification en E65 Brabus (y'en a 4 dans le monde, dont la seule noir qui appartient a Bodo's Buschmann (Brabus founder)

actually you can easily swap the 5 speed dogleg from the 190e 16v
