I've been thinking about getting a bike for a little while now. I do about 300km per week for work, so I'm trying to see if it's worth it to buy a bike to save on gas.
The issue is I live in Ontario. Insurance is ridiculously expensive.
I was thinking of getting a DR650 or a DRZ400. After getting quoted at 300/month on insurance and the fact that the bikes don't get any better mileage than a civic, it's not worth it. I'd be paying 500/month just for insurance.
So is there any sort of bike which would be better on fuel? I would be doing 90% highway (417).
I was thinking of getting an older bike and doing a little bobber or cafe racer project, but I don't know if it's worth it.
