"The right thing to do" was to not buy the car at all because the risk factor was too high. The owner could then part it out and buy another one.
But you know, it's a TV show so they're having fun with a car that lost a substantial part of it's value because of the crash. They're gaining exposure, pissing off kids who'll never own a Ferrari yet talk like they own the company. If you are going to be successful, a lot of people are going to talk shit about what you do, it's just a part of it.
If a brake job is a challenge for you, your opinion on this car is null and void, so just sit back and watch the show folks.
It's funny that ferrari forums are mostly positive about the project, and other general forums like MR populated by kids under 25 years old are negative about it.
The suspention upgrades will make it a track beast, and there is nothing wrong with that....it's an F40.
I think you have the wrong perspective of our discussion, I was referring to the business perspective of this particular project....i have seen all shows....they buy cars to fix, resell and make money....period!
In this case....whatever debates or opinions....the fact is that they ''supposedly'' paid 400k....and on OTHER forums as you mentionned....they say the car had MINUMUM 150k to 300k damage....that saying...with the ''modded'' version they did...lets just say the repairs cost minimum 100k....thats 500k total....COST....
Cant see how they will sell the car more than 500k....i just cant see it....
Your comments are not false...its a show...who knows what the REAL DEAL is...but as a project to make money....its not good...
''track beast'' ok sure....but for 500k....ill get a REAL track beast...also not too sure...im gonna track my F40 every weekend...just my 2 cents...
