I don't understand why he wouldn't take a car that was repainted, it's not a joeblow it's the fucking original factory doing this

the way he sees it is that he paid for something custom and the program is straight up for something he choose, he didnt get the right color and wanted it to be original thats why he said no to the repainting

This. Same thing with him saying no to them taking the interior of the first car to put in the new one because of possible rattles. Lol wut?

WTF Is wrong with you guys. The guy paid 80k$ for his "Individual" pack M3 and he got an ugly ass colour car that wasn't his choice instead. I'd be even madder than he is right now if that was my case. Then offering him to repaint a BRAND new M3?! Is this for real?! This isn't no corner of the street used car dealer here it's effin BMW Welt. It remains that with the Serial Number of the car, even if THEY repaint it, it'll still show up as the wrong colour. On top of that, repainted cars will never have the same strength the OEM paint has.

At the end of the day, BMW made a mistake and in his misfortune the guy was lucky it happened that way because it's clearly BMWs fault. If the car would've crossed the borders and got to the US I'm pretty sure he would've been stuck with it. I also don't get the 8 weeks wait for delivery of those seats. I mean com'on, you're BMW, you can custom order an interior and have it done in a couple of hours if escalated at the right level.

Can't wait to see what the final outcome will be because so far, they said they'll order him a new car but without the custom interior that he ordered and the guy said he's not flying with it so his dealership is still waiting for an answer from BMW.

The color problem I understand, I wouldn't take a crappy blue instead of the nice one. But not going for the interior swap because the car wouldn't be 100% authentic, there he was just a bit too anal.

Yes and no... They really need to swap out everything not only the seats. Door cards, console etc... It is true that it can create premature rattles.

Kinda stupid to customer order another M3, especially when BMW states that materials will not be available because a new model is coming out. If you're gonna pay $80,000, might as well wait for the new one at the same time.

X2

The paint process in a BMW involves many complex steps (primer is actually applied by submerging the positively charged body in a negatively charged primer bath so that all areas are covered and the coat bonds on a molecular level) curing and timing etc. which could simply not be recreated in a normal paint booth. Don't for a second think that BMW would throw that car back into the paint stage of the assembly line after completely taking it apart to have the new paint of cost applied the same way. It would be a good job for sure but still not as good as the factory process.

I can also understand for the stitching part, he custom ordered and paid the price, he shouldn't have to accept something else if BMW fucks things up.

You guys also need to take into a count his trip is basically ruined, imagine taking time off, buying plane tickets to Germany, hotel, and then going to the Nurburgring in a fkin x1 loaner car. It's a euro delivery, it's not just a matter of driving to your local dealer, telling them to fuck off, re-order and coming back 6 weeks later. He went to fucking Germany only to pick up that car and it wasn't what he ordered. I would've flipped personally. BMW should at the very least reimburse his entire trip and make good in the delivery of the proper vehicle.

New one isn't coming out for AT LEAST another year, for which at the beginning Individual packs won't be available.
