Jacques Villeneuve...

When I travel for business I am not there as a tourist and when you visit the same area multiple times you start to get a feel of how people are and think.

So, list where you have travelled and your experiences? I travel every 6-8 weeks for business and I can tell you, from experience, that Montreal and Quebec feels less and less like home...

I don't intend to start a pissing contest by making a list of place I traveled. My job makes me travel around the globe about 3 weeks per month.

That being said,

It comes down to personal preferences. Personally, I found that Quebec is not a bad place to live ;)

Quebec is not a bad place to live but I no longer feel like it is home for me. It is a place to live, period. All changed for me when I started travelling for business 10-years ago and witnessed what is out there, the good and the bad. Quebec can and should be so much better, I want to call it home but I just can't. So much energy and resources are wasted on petty stuff in this province.

You know, a lot of people who come to Montreal for business think it's amazing....

/\ Exactly.

"This province is not the worst place to live in"... instead of looking upwards and striving for better we continuously look backwards to compare with the worst... Looking backwards brings you backwards.
Simply put, this province could be a much better place to live in. Unnecessary to list the reasons why the development stalling. The answers are all around you. For once, I agree with JV.

I thought the question was where would you live if you were a millionaire? I'm 25, my concerns are getting laid, partying, balling outta control. I have 2 out of 3 right now, but I need money to ball outta control.

You have your priorities straight man.

You know, a lot of people who come to Montreal for business think it's amazing....

Yes, for the partying & food. Once you start telling them about our taxation rates and social attributes, they quickly tune out...

I wish you start making lots of money, your mindset will change because you will only tolerate so much. Whether you like it or not, money changes all perspective.

You're partially right.
Montreal WAS a great place to come for business but were past that now.

My father was an executive at "Le Reigne Elizabeth" and made lots of good investments in the food and real estate business back in the late 80's and early 90's.

It was much easier then to start up a business or invest but now the food and beverage business is so bad that banks don't even get involved for loans in that anymore.

Once again I'm guilty of saying Quebec is shit and all but the truth is its not.
When u add the good and bad it's simply a slightly sub par place to live.
It's not terrible but far from great.

I was just in the elevator with a business woman, I was carrying an old CRT model television that we now have to pay 17$ for a company to recycle. EVEN THOUGH WE'VE ALREADY JUST PAID AN EXTRA 21.50$ ON THE NEW TV IT'S BEING REPLACED BY.

We had a short discussion about it. I called Recycle Quebec myself, I explained, all they can do is refer me to a place which WILL charge me to pick up and dispose of old obsolete tech.

Where's all that money going to? 21.50 per screen times the amount of screens we have here, over 300 users, 350 PCs, multiply that for all the medium sized companies, then add the PMEs and the large corporations.

WHAT IN THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING WITH OUR MONEY?

I was thinking a penthouse condo and a big cottage on a lake. Not a poverty 1 1/2 and a broken down shed.

Lol @ small horizons. Because people dream of a nice house on a lake instead of a nice house @ the Mediterranean or Ocean.

plenty of nice lakes and mountain tops within 1 hour of montreal

"Mountains" ? lol

Stop deluding yourself that Montreal has good night life and food. Go to Europe for a few months and you'll laugh at what passes for night life in MTL.
