Looking to Set Up a Webpage but the (.com) I Want is Taken

As title states Looking to Set Up a Webpage but the (.com) I Want is Taken. When I enter the web address it takes me to a page that says I can make an offer to buy it from the person who owns it. I have no idea what to offer and how much it's worth. This is for my tribute band so it's not like it's to make money from the site or anything. Any idea what I should offer? Any info is appreciated.
Thanks

Well considering that the person who bought it wants to make money, send them an email and ask how much they are looking for. Then evaluate how much to your eyes it's worth.

Expect to pay between 200-500$ as a minimum.

Send them an email and state your offer is $1. Most of the time, they will reply and say something similar to "I'm sorry the current bid/price is $XXX"

yeah, they have a fixed price for it. You can negociate with them afterwards if your domain name ain't too comon.
Usually you'll end up choosing another one since they charge an arm and a leg for this.

I wouldn't use the form on the webpage. I have tried that multiple times and it never worked.

I have bought these same sites using sedo.com

Ok, so heard back from them and they wanted $700 for it, lol! So I took a .ca instead. Now that brings me to my next problem. For my other website I used Yahoo Site Builder to make it and it was super easy. Yahoo doesn't accept .ca site so now I'm screwed. Anybody know of a place like Yahoo where they offer web hosting and free site builder with pre-existing templates, etc.?
Thanks

Got my .ca domain from Go Daddy and they called me up to see if I needed help with anything. I got their web builder with web hosting included for $12/yr.

I have OttawaRacing.ca and the company that owns OttawaRacing.com wanted $5000. I told them to lick my balls. I picked up TorontoRacing.com for $100 (had the .net already).

I wish you luck. I still have a few domains registered with them (moved all others to NameCheap) and use Hostgator. I tried their hosting once and had quite a few issues and pretty bad support. That was back in 2008 or so.
Then there was the elephant killing scandal, then GoDaddy went pro-SOPA and lost thousands of clients and almost got shut down by Anonymous... Anyways, a company I'd try to stay away with.
