Looking for a cheap track car, beginner.

Hey there guys... Like the title says, Im looking for a cheap track car. Im tired of drag racing and want to try something new. Right now I have a SRT-4 and those car are whales and not worth #6$#$%^ on the track lol.

My budget is 3.5k ( I know Im poor )
Manual would be best

Ideas?? Ive looked for miatas, but they allllll expensive as hell.
Toyota echo with suspension mods and wheels/tires?
1st gen Neon? ( Laugh all you want but they are good cars on a track )

Find a cheap civic hatch in good shape, swap a b18b or something not too expensive in there = good fun track car.
 
EG or EK hatch is a no-brainer: cheap, reliable & fairly well balanced... Your idea for a 1G neon is actually quite good... That is if you can find a clean DOHC one...
 
Tu peux trouver une Miata pour 3.5K mais elle va avoir besoin d'un peu d'amour.

Mais pense à l'argent que tu vas économiser au fil du temps à lapper une voiture fiable qui te couteras rien.
