Making Montreal better

People always complain about Montreal, the roads, the taxes, fuel costs, potholes, etc.

We rarely talk about what we can do to actually make things better. Ideas that would attract foreign investment, tourism, development, pretty much anything that will improve the city, and restore a sense of pride with the residents.

So pitch some idea, any idea, as long as it's realistic, and not bashful towards cultures or other peoples opinions. Let's not turn this into a flamewar please.

Well for one, I think it would already be better if the citizens would reduce their car mileages and walk or ride a bike more often but I don't think that idea would make sense to must users on this forum...

Remove both subsidies and any type of taxes on businesses, remove minimum wage and watch everyone's salary go way up.

Srs

We need to elect a mayor who can govern for the interest of the city and its citizens. First step, Montrealers must NOT vote in the separatist Harel come november.
We need to reduce the number of city councillors.

First, one has to go, the Provincial or the Federal. We can't have a government within a government. Now you address the election issue, 38% can be a majority, not acceptable. Then you address the tax issue. Healthcare privatization is now a must. 49% of our budget is simply too much. We should have a 20-30 year plan to privatize.

Okay, now we have a bit of money to play with, one. Make it mandatory for every new building in montreal to have underground parking, work along side US engineers to rebuild our road systems with better materials and higher flow systems. Regulate and handicap all unions. Cut gas taxes with savings.

Decarie at 100km/h. Remove all Photo-Radar and eliminate police quotas.

Have incentives to bring back heavy industry, everything from mining to production.

Prosper.

#1 - Provincial governments shouldn't exist for multiple reason (when I mean multiple I mean millions of reason).
#2- With one government taxes should be at a flat rate of 9 ~ 12 %.
#3- Taxes should vary by categories of merchants. You shouldn't be paying taxes at a restaurant, instead of paying 15% tax on clothing / shoes ... taxes should only be like 5% instead.
#4- Healthcare should be privatized to a certain point not at 100%.
#5- Fix the roads & make 'em a bit larger (instead of 3 lanes have minimum 4)
etc... will never get there why even dream?

un maire qui se tiens debout et pas corompu.
éliminer tout les petits rois d'arrondisement, beaucoup trop de chefs.
Mais y a beaucoup de chose a faire, sérieux.

Construction workers should work 24/24 considering the arteries are way too small for the amount of traffic ( 3 shifts / 8 hours / give em cocaine if needed. )
Priorities in expenses. Parks and all can wait, more people use the road.
Private roadwork should be investigated by a competent provincial govt upon the approval of the project by the city. Reglementations of asphalt and roadwork concerning the price and all the jazz needed.
Make our engineers @ ETS develop a road infrastructure that will hold 4 seasons of chaos and last longer than 2 weeks.
Build a second bridge with 8 lanes.
Make the highway 20 a 100 zone again.
Decarie should be two stories high ( 6 lane north 6 lane south )
Actual maintenance of the road infrastructures each years instead of each 10 years when something breaks.

Remove the fucking patrimoine laws on older constructions so we can have some actual architecture around town and neighborhoods.
Green roofs and solar pannels should be standardized.
Rethink the way cyclists are disposed around town.
Extend the metro east-west.
Underground parkings should be the new standard, or something like in Tokyo.
Renovations should be mandatory for each properties over 25 years old.
Make something out of the olympic stadium and make it iconic.

Sue the corrupt SOB's and place em on deathrow.

Ideas:

1) Limit provincial government's power over economy/taxation issues.

2) Declare ASSÉ a terrorist organisation, arrest it's leaders and put a definite end to this ridiculous failboat.

3) Make sure federal government doesn't have the all-in last-word on everything because we would get fucked over even more than marois.

4) Remove ridiculous taxes on gas/electronics to begin with.

5) Keep tuition fees as they are, and keep it public as well, if we make it private it will become a disaster just like in the U.S., brb 200k for a history degree at a third tier university.

6) Increase trade with DEPENDENT U.S. states such as vermont/maine/new hampshire, they really need us for their economies and we could use their investments as well, so instead of being little faggots and overtax everything on border, we should promote free-market on matters regarding these states.

7) Limit corporation lobbying on political parties, and impose a limit on funding each party has to rock their elections.

8) Impose stricter criminal sentences and lift charges regarding self-defense matters.

9) Give rewards to any politician/gangster/anyone with serious infos who accepts to denounce their complices regarding illegal matters (Fraud, corruption, other illicit activities).

10) Start exploiting our fucking natural ressources and tell the hippies to go fuck themselves, we can still invest in the future with that money instead of leaving it on the ground and enjoying being the broke asses of Canada. (Qatar/UAE are the prime fucking examples).

Also get rid of this cheap ass parasite mindset:
