Y'a un dude qui s'est fait frapper sur le circuit ;

Demain on va voir en première page du journal de montréal ;

'' Un blessé sur le circuit Gilles Villeneuve; Devrais-t-on diminuer la vitesse lors du Grand Prix de Montréal pour éviter encore un incident de ce genre ? ''

I made it to the track today, Senna curve stand 12. I hadn't been since 2003 and here are my impressions.

Extremely boring race, thank god Alonso made a comeback to 2nd place.
Souvenir and paraphernalia stands terrible, not what it used to be.
Infrastructures need to be upgraded ASAP (they could a least paint the pit wall, the footage of Vergne leaning on the wall prior to the start of race with the white paint all chipped and peeling off is terrible)
Did not do the metro (long walk), thank god.

It remains the event of the year for Montreal and Quebec.
Impressive to see the stands filled with fans.
It is a good track to experience F1 up close.
We need to keep this event to keep Montreal on the map.
Great support races.

Bottom line, would I pay $450 for 3-day passes, no way. Am I happy to see others do so to keep it alive, absolutely.

Final word, Dumontier is not doing a good job vs. Legault on the overall image of the GP.

Yep worst GP I've seen there in recent memory. Vettel sandbagged and ran away with it. Alonso proved he's the best driver on the grid today. They need to invest serious money into the track it looks really shabby... I mean common those wooden stairs have been there for. Over 20 years...

Indeed. I do agree with Bernie when he demands guarantees that new infrastructures will be built Even my cousin who had a photo pass said the garages are literally the pits...

Let's invest the money needed and turn this track and infrastructures into a world class event.

It's sad but they won't plop the coin down and we will lose te event. There are too many nimbys that want to see the track plowed over and they'll win . Oh well off to Austin and NJ

Absolutely agree!

The track is fantastic, located in a unique setting (on an island !!!!), has a good mix of high speed and technical sections. Unfortunately they're just not going to invest the money to really refurbish it.

They'd need to open it more than twice a year to make it worthwile. What I'd like to see at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve:

ALMS
F1
Indy Car
NASCAR

all those + supporting races would be awesome !

The track is nice, but for competitors it's absolute crap, I mean we leave for 2 (yes 2!!) false grids at least 1 hour before actually going on track with the cars. The pitlane is roughly 1km from our trailers.

Montreal please invest, bring more races and make it worthwile !

omfg, sad news for the marshal! R.I.P! For me, it was my first time so even if the race was pretty boring I liked it a lot!

In 1990 I attended the Sports Prototype race at Le Circuit GV. It was a great event until they had to stop the race due to a massive crash caused by an unsecured manhole cover (yes, bienvenue to Quebec dates back to a long time ago). Suffice it to say that the infrastructures have not evolved much since the 90's while ticket prices have quadrupled.

Ticket prices have gone up yes but they be been roughly the same for the past 8 years.in the mid 90s hairpin tickets were 225$ for the weekend but i seem to recall friday was free Concession prices aren't bad either

In Austin a hot dog was 9.75 and beer was 14$. I like the fact we can take the metro and not have to deal with insane traffic. You can also bring your own beer/food . Spain is 16 euro for. Beer ...
