Over the past while, Iv'e been focusing on bettering myself, physically and mentally, by dropping bad habits and picking up good ones to achieve an overall better lifestyle. There have been a few minor changes Iv'e made that have had a huge impact.

I'm going to use this thread as a log and a diary (no homo) to track my progress and regress, and use it to see how I can improve even more at whatever it may be.

I invite everyone else to post anything they're working on in their lives, whether it be quitting smoking, going to sleep earlier, finishing a project... Whatever. Post it, maybe you'll get some good feedback.

I want this thread to stay positive and motivate others to prosper.

Keep hustlin MROT, we all gon' make it.

I'm gonna start off with my fitness progress. For a while, i'd hit the gym solo, do a few heavy sets and go home. My diet wasn't terrible, but wasn't perfect either. I smoked a lot of shish and bars 2-3x a week. Recently, I got a gym buddy to start lifting with me and it's made a massive difference. We push each other so hard we both wanna puke. We cardio hard, superset everything and we've switched up our routine to more of a bodyweight/calisthenic routine.

Not only did the weight start coming off faster, but I feel much stronger in general. Since I started seeing results, the motivation sort of snowballed into other parts of my life. My diet is super clean now, I cut down the drinking a lot, and smoke in moderation. Not only do I feel better daily, it's saved me a bunch of money too.

I believe this is the biggest "change" Iv'e made, I'll post other smaller habits later on.

good job ohhpee

I'm trying to eat healthier. i'm trying to include more fruits and veggies in my diet. Barely ever eat any. I hope this helps me have more energy throughout my days.

Good: I lost 20 pounds since I started traing in febuary, I stopped fast food almost completely, started training muscles 3 times a week and almost stopped drinking completely since the beginning of May. I went from at least 2-3 beers a day to 1 a week or not at all. I'm beginning cross fit tomorrow. And I never smoked.

Bad: I lost my mother 2,5 years ago, still in "deuil" (haven't gone through this yet). Then I lost the gf I had since 4 years last december. And finally I had to close my business and lose about 100 000$ in the process.

I'm not looking for pity here, just showing that I've lost almost everything that mattered to me in the last two years, so I'll have to start over again in about every aspects of my life.

I will keep you guys posted on how I'm going to get my life back on track.

Great thread idea. Your maybe less of a retard than i thought you were. Lol jk

I actually have been seriously thinking about quitting smoking in the last few weeks and plan to start doing so at the end of this week.

I will also try and exercise more in order to be more motivated and see even greater changes health wise.

It's now or never. I don't feel like waiting another 15 years before i decide to quit for good.

As for the better part.

I'm really happy i decided to quit the shitty non paying jobs and decide to go back to school. It's fun when you actually have a goal. I finished what i was missing of highschool at an intensive course recently which took 2 months, and i have been studying for a Dep in something i enjoy for about a month and a half now. It was a little rough in the beginning after being 5 years on the job market and working fulltime. But 2 years of studying for a decent paying job in something you enjoy doing is totally worth it.

Try acupunctute, it can help you quit smoking.

Great job on cutting out the boozing and fast food, seems like you're doing it in moderation which is perfect.

As for your losses, I can say businesses come and go, it's just money. Same goes for the GF, you can always get another. But the mother... you only have one and she's irreplaceable. I wish I had advice to give you on it, but truth is I haven't been through losing someone that close. All I can say is stay strong and have a positive mindset.

This thread isn't about pity, it's about posting things that bug you/ bad habits/ negatives, taking a step back, looking at the big picture and doing the best you can to try to improve the problem, thus growing as a person in the process.

I'm getting closer to quitting smoking but its so hard to completely stop it.
I'm able to last longer and longer without one and I'm hoping eventually ill be able to just chew gum instead

going to sleep earlier?

I guess I should've said getting a good night's sleep instead. In the past i'd run on 3-4 hours of sleep literally for no reason at all. I'd just stay up, procrastinate doing nothing productive and it took it's toll on my performance at work and school.

I got into the habit of getting a solid 8 hours per night. Not only did school and work get better, but my mood during the day was overall much better.

I also use the sleep cycle app. It seems crazy and all, but it wakes you up when you're in your light sleep stage, so you don't wake up feeling groggy and shitty.

You'd be very surprised at how unretarded I actually am.

Resist the temptations man, just fight it. Turn up the boost on that willpower.

and congrats on getting back to school!

To all those trying to quit smokes, anyone consider the vapor cigarettes? My old man is thinking of picking one up.

I dont know you but here is my advice to you.

DO NOT SKIP any part of your '' deuil '' ( wtf is the word in english , Mourning? )

I did skip these parts when my father died 12 years ago and i still suffer from this choise.

12 Years passed by and i cant even go to the cemetary yet because i buried these bad feeling inside instead of living them at the right time.

And i know the gym help , but do not use it to convert your bad feelings into energy , its not the good way to get rid of them , good luck!

Common mistake is when people substitute real cigarettes with the vapor ones cold turkey style.
I find it helpful to still smoke normal cigarettes and use the vapor ones in between.

As I mentioned earlier , the time in between cigs is getting longer and longer.

I went from over a pack a day to around 5-10 a day now.

I'm trying to keep it to a pack to a pack and a half a week. I carry a cigarette case, and only bring a few with me each day.
