Traction Issues Help ?

Alright, I have been having quite a bit of problems with getting traction with the stang since I finished it... Quite simply, there is none ... The setup ressembles this :

-Ford 9 inch Rear 3.73 with detroit locker
-BFG g-Force T/A Drag Radial 315/35/17
-Give or take 900 Crank HP
-4 Speed Auto 3500 Torque Stall
-Stiffer rear Leaf Springs
-Slide Link Traction Bars

I am no suspension genious, so if that is where my problem could be ?

And on a side note, when I say no traction, I mean 100kph to full throttle = crash ... It is at the point where it is dangerous for such a crappy handling car to spin like that...

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

900 crank hp and you're wondering why u don't have traction? Lol

On brand new 315's Drag Radials, with 3.73 gears full lock and traction bars, I should be able to floor it at 100-120 without smoking the highway... Or have some sort of decent launch... I mean I understand it is normal for it to spin, but this is plain dangerous... if I accelerate simply a tad too quick to pass a car, they light up...

Well the 3.73 gears are definitely not helping.
I assume that was one of the first mods u did when u have close to stock hp ?
I'd sell them and go back to stock. They're 3.08 I think?
It's been a long time since I was a stang owner

Lower and upper control arms , big fkn sandbag in the trunk to help out with the light weight in the rear
Lower stiffer springs , less psi in tires (20-25 )

I dunno if they were stock, but I took 4.10's out of there...

I am already down to 17-18 in the tires, I did'nt get as far as adding weight to the trunk yet, I figured there would have been a way to simply manage the weight transfer so it would make it ''seem'' heavier in the back without actually being ?

By Lower Stiffer , you mean lower car and stiffer springs ? or ''softer'' springs ?

4.10' are disgusting on a high hp car.
They're only good if u have like an old fox body that's stock but garbage for traction when u start increasing hp.

I would definitely go back to stock gearing and check out the springs because TOO stiff can make u hop around alot

I am going to give it a try, I still have the factory leafs laying around somewhere... Nothing to lose slapping them on for a try... And as far as gearing, I basically get the lowest possible number ( Highest possible gearage ) ??? Or does it simply get pointless after a certain degree ???

Well look a higher gearing keeps ur engine at much higher Rpms at the expense of some top speed.
With ur 900 ponies u de direly don't need that.
Go to stock or even less than that to keep ur Revs ower and help with traction.

Lower is definitely better for u. I remember there being 4.10, 373,355,3,08 and 273 I think.

In ur case u will actually go faster due to better traction.

Now if you're getting wheel hop
Check this link
http://forums.themustangsource.com/f800/wheel-hop-fixes-515276/

The thing with mustangs is that u don't have an independent rear suspension so once u get a little wheel hop on one side it messes u up on the other.
The live axle does however work well considering its like considered Fred flinstone but nonetheless u will need upgrades on the back end

Check the link out cause its been 12 years since u had one.

What year is it btw ?

Also why don't u check out what they have done to the SuperSnakes? Or gt500?

I'm sure that would help as well

Y vire a 100-120kmh?

Roule plus vite. ;)

With 315 drag radials, 3.73 gears, and 900hp, you're not having traction issues, youre having driver issues.

Learn to modulate the throttle just on the limit of grip. There's no RWD car with 900hp that you can just mash on the throttle at 100kmh, you have to work the throttle, not just mash the gas like Vin Diesel

Thanks for the link, I will read through that.

It is a 1972 with a 351 Windsor stroked to 418 with reversed dome pistons. With a twin T04Z .70 A/R turbo setup Missing in these pictures are the proper wheels and tires, as well as the Nitrous kit.
