for the merc... it's a classic, i can't chop or do anything to it beside suspension and wheel
I did find one "now" that is owned and well care by an older guy; 100% original, condition high 7 on 10. (and i have seen a few of these and they are all 5-6 on 10)

For all the others (nissan, datsun and toyota) i can cut chop hammer scratch and i won't cry, and they are pretty much availlable all the time. So once i see a deal i can jump on it...

so which one would you pick and why?

Datsun or Mercedes.

Mercedes just looks too good when OEM+'d and tastefully modified.

Datsun is just a classic that will turn heads no matter what. You also probably have more aftermarket support for the Datsun as well as some more swap options.

Mercedes without a doubt... Easier to keep it simple on the 190 but sooooooo easy to break the bank on the Zs, be it S130 or Z31... Celica Supras are starting to get expensive for mint condition ones since the newest ones turned 25 last yr, and look better if left alone anyway...

My 2c.

if the 2.3 16v is manual and in good condition for 9K, Get it now. You won't find a deal like that again. + it's a classic

S130 all the way. If properly restored, this thing is just gorgeous, and on an aesthetic scale for just cruising around as a pleasure car, the character it has will never be matched by your other choices which are far less organic in their look.

**Flame suit on**

La Mercedez et tu essais de lui donner le look EVO II, en tout cas moi j'aimerais bien faire ça.

well, i ended up buying something else. I changed my mind and wanted some "serious punch" and great value for my money so i bought this gem to restore
