that's if the person stopped is resident of another country and is suspected to try and get out of the country without paying....they can do that to you if you go in the states and get stopped for speeding

I wouldn't have gone along with that... arrest me, jail me, I don't care... I'd take it to court and challenge the law! Paying on the spot... in CASH?! Can I get a receipt?!

If you are with caa quebec you have a get out of jail free card for that reason. It is given to the officer in lieu of payment. Its called Arrest bond and bail bond certificate. Its a weird law but in the us it is very popular. I deal with morons going to fl all year long and the stories never cease to amase me.

Relax maybe they didnt know....jesus youd swear you are an sq officer. It is weird however since he had a quebec plated vehicule and a canadian address.
 
How come whenever I get pulled over in the states and they ask for my citizenship and I say bi-citizen they always seem ultra confused and just let me off :p Just talk to the cop in french he won't bother wasting his time with you.
