General Motors' recently hired vice-president for sales and marketing Joel Ewanick took the stage at the Plug-In 2010 conference in San Jose, CA today and finally revealed that the 2011 Chevrolet Volt will have a base price of $41,000 (including a $720 destination charge) before federal and state tax incentives. While GM hasn't gone as aggressive as most people had hoped on the sticker price, the real deal appears to be the $350 per month for 36 months lease. That matches the monthly payment that Nissan is charging for the Leaf EV.

The effective purchase price of the Volt will be cut to $33,500 with a $7,500 federal tax credit (hence the asterisk in the title), but buyers will have to finance the $41,000 and get the credit back on their next tax return. Lease customers will have the credit factored in to their payment. The Volt lease requires a $2,500 down payment (vs $2,000 for the Leaf), but GM is including a clause in the lease contract that allows leasers to buy the car at the end of their term so that the automaker don't have another standoff with customers like it did with the all-electric EV1

pis vu qu'ils poussent les locations le prix de revente pour une neuve va chuter de 75% après 3 ans..

GM ont jamais compris leur lecon ca a l'air.

De toute façon, ça prend du guts en osti pour acheter ça. Même si elle était 25000$ et que j'en voudrais une, bin je louerais. Ça va être quoi la fiabilité de ça dans nos hivers?

Avant de s'énerver sur le prix de vente, y en a-t-il au moins UN de vous qui a lu le texte au complet ?

Avez-vous remarquer l'astérisque apres le prix de vente ? avez vous vu ce que cela voulait dire ?

Why not apply the tax credit at the time of purchase just like the Nissan Leaf? Basically, GM is taking your $7500 dollar from your pocket on the governments back which they have already spent billions on bailing out GM.

If you believe in this green technology, buy the Nissan Leaf.

This is all BS. We have enough resources and knowledge to build a fully electric car with Stirling engine as a recharge option for below 20k + battery pack, but who cares right? Look at Tesla project, premium sedan for 45k, who will buy GM at this price?

En passant GM a pratiquement tjs un 2030% de rabais ou plus sur son PDSF.

Donc je magasine les pickup actuellement, un truck de 55k se paye environ 42k$.


Donc la Volt sera pas aussi chère a l'achat.


Ensuite une Prius se détaille 27k au prix de base. La plus équipé est 38k CANADIEN!

La volt arrive beaucoup plus équipé que la Prius, de série on parle d'un systeme BOSE avec XM, ipod, écran 7 pouce, etc. Donc coté prix sa se compare dangereusement.

Ensuite coté technologie, la Volt n'a rien a envié au motorisation HYBRID des concurrants.


Contrairement a la Prius ou la Fusion, la Volt est entierement propulsé par l'électricité, le moteur a gaz est uniquement un générateur et ne sert pas a propulsé la voiture la voiture.


Donc a 4X 000$, avec l'équipement de série , - un crédit d'impot par le gouvernement, - les rabais de GM, et sans doute qu'il y aura d'autre rabais incitatif par les compagnies d'assurance, Hydro-Quebec, etc la Volt risque de couter beaucoup moins chere que vous le croyez.


Finalement, le but d'une hybrid n'est pas de réduire la FACTURE a la fin de l'année, mais bien d'émettre le moins d'émission polluante pour le + de km possible.
