Ive got a brand new mike phone here and tried to activate it with telus mike and they want a bloody 1500$ deposit any telus specialists here that can help me find a way around that? :(:(

1500$ !? wtf that's impossible... the most possible is 1000$ and that's for people who've had recent bankruptcy... wich takes 7 years to clear...

man u must have extremely bad credit it they ask you such a big deposit... 1500 are you sure? Or it might be because you owe Telus unpaid bills?

nonetheless, there's no way to go around that, unless you call Equifax... that's the company Telus works with for credit check, so call them and see if it's not a mistake and get a confirmation... then call back Telus

Thats pretty much it.
I was todl 400$ and that was cause I still owed 300$ to Fido and my contract hadnt finished. My mom opened my account and she had 0$ deposit.

No real away around it, check your finances and see if you owe things to some places and if you dont, call equifax and ask whats wrong with your credit.

Goodluck

in deed they asked for 1500 bucks i also have 4 seperate accounts with telus pcs never late and i have all major credit cards with 0 balance and not to mention i own my own business my credit rating is R1 according to my equifax report i think these assholes are on some kind of dope

thats strange ask to know more about the reason man thats really strange if you are R1 and 0 balance better look maybe your name he didnt write it down well cause i know last time i had this kind of problem the guy thought i was someone else

ok yea your right actually i'm gonna talk to a superviser and find out what the deal is i mean i dont wanna brag or anything cause i'm not about that but companies just hound me to get credit and then these idiots want 1500 bucks:(

Tell them Bell doesn't want a deposit for 10-4 from you if you switch. See what happens then, what a pile of BS this is.

it could be a mistake or fraud...
i've seen a lot of fraud cases
go back to a corporate store and have your activation done there... do not go to an independant dealer!
corporate stores are often in shopping malls and the sellers wear a black uniform and give way better service, seriously
if it still fuks up, ask to call customer service with the direct line and fix the problem in store right on the spot

You are full of shit.. you have must have horrible credit.

I was 18 years old and got 3 Mike Accounts under my name, also if you already exsist in their system they don't even bother doing a credit check.. since it has been done already. I opened 2 more Telus accounts they didnt even check my credit score.

Greg, credit checks only stay valid for a certain amount of time, so yes one day they will need to redo a credit check if you wish to add more lines, but the check will be internal, and not with the credit bureau.

I work sales for Fido, deposits I deal with daily are $50-$200, its usualy only more when a customer first had $200 and than is bad at paying his bills, and wishes additional lines.

1500?? it's fraud.

call telus directly to the sales department and tell them you want to activate a line. They will do it for you. You may not need to put a deposit at all with the credit you seem to have. As system said. Fido and Rogers it's 50-200$ deposit and only if there is inssuficient credit or bad credit. Our maximum deposit is 200$ PER LINE. Are you trying to activate more then 1 line? If not then call them up directly and see if they can help you. We had sales reps at rogers asking for 1000$ deposits from people with excellent credit and required no deposit according to our systems. I hate to admit it but there are dishonnest people in all corners of the world.

i work for telus corp. and the max is $1000 per unit and you still have to do another credit check when you switch product ex. mike to pcs

They require deposits incase you don't pay your bill. They'll use that credit you owe. I freaked out when Rogers asked me for 200$. I called the company they deal with for credit, they said I have nothing but positive feedback, called back Rogers and they said they couldn't change shit. Whatever, if I don't get it back after a year I'm canceling my line.

....

Guys I work for telus at Account management.

If we Ask someone for 1000 $ deposit. I dont think the Credit is a R1 . We have Teens that are 18 years old fresh credit...

sorry to Say my friend but if your telling me your credit is R1 and you dont have any account in collection with other companies. You should Call Equifax And see whats wrong on your Credit . Becaue the credit check inst done by Telus itself But by Equifax.

Sad to say but if your telling the truth... means that something is wrong on your File at equifax. ( Fraud ??))))
