C'est moi qui a écrit l'article, j'ai hâte de connâitre vos commentaires.
The Law:
Internet Sales:
Internet sales are hurting the good old fashion store front. Yes, of course! This is 2008! It's time to wake up and smell the fried transistor! Internet has been around for +- 15 years as a main stream thing and when they announced the version 2.0 of the Web, this should of been a wake up call! I agree that a 20 year old kid may be able to sell stuff for cheep from his basement and i also agree his after sales is crap.
There are 2 ways of dealing with this. You can do what they do, cut cost and increase profit by selling like them on the internet. That would put you on the same playing field and you can't complain any more about this.
The second option that is more favorable in my oppinion is to add value to the products you sell. In theses days, waranty's exchanges, etc etc are not added value, they are nescessery. I am sure i am not the only one that goes to a store expecting a knowledgefull sales person that can help me make a better choice for my needs. Insted, i get somone that can surf the internet slower then i can that tells me what i want insted of suggesting what i need. Take for example the time i went to a car shop, lets call it HighPerformance, when i needed my alarm to be fixed and converted to a 2 way. I got greeted by a salesperson that was too busy surfing the net then to come see my car, tell me he can fix it and he can add value to what the internet has to offer. Well, i went back home and ordered the parts from ebay for 10$ more then he was selling them because i did not want to go back after comparing the prices. It was just more conveniant!
China:
This one hits home because i am a huge Asia lover and have been to asia many times. My girlfriend is Chinese from PRC and she used to work in manifacturing (Purchessing).
I don't agree that china makes lesser quality products then the original country, IE: USA or Japan. The only differance is the fact that they offer more choices to the requestor. Take a CIE like Steinhoff. They get lots of furniture made for many clients around the world. They are like IKEA...
Well, when they have a client from USA that wants a couch, the go to the manifacturer that makes excellent quality couches. Get the QC guy to inspect the couches and when the client recieves the couches IE: The Brick, they are 100% satisfied. On the other hand, when they get an order from the south affrican client, and there target price is cheep, they go to the cheeper manifacturer and do the best they can! Of course the client won't be 100% satisfied but that is what he was ready to pay for!
So when i hear people complain that there 200$ turbo from China blew up, well you got what you payed for!
But on the other hand, when they complain about things that are made in china, they should look at about 80% of there lives. Every thing is made in china.
Just remember 30 years ago when they said, ahhh made in japan, it's junk. Now japanese stuff is the best.
Well, quote me on this, check in 50years. Every thing that is made in china will be the best and the japanese stuff will be realy specialized and expensive.
You:
Yes!!! (Well not me as i did not realy modify my car) But yes, the people who modify there cars are the real problem. They put fat noizy exhausts, horribly setup HID lights, Stupid stickers and attact all the attention by driving like idiots. Of course the Tuning world gets a bad rep and in turn, the business part of the tuning world suffers!
Funny like serious tuners have rarely any problems. Think of RUFF, Crosworth, Jun, Shelby. It'a because they cater to real tuners!
