I finally got my calipers rebuilt and put together. so here is my brake setup, front brake lines have been made and put in place and almost all of the rear as well. I am using:
G60 rotors
G60 carriers
VR6 calipers
Rabbit 07 brake pads
I don't know if its been done before, but the rabbit pads have about twice the friction surface then a G60 pad.

oops, after more looking around those calipers were VR6 drivers edition with the vr6 carrier, all for 11.3. I really wanted to retain my 11" 4 lug setup, so i found another set of calipers

Increasing the friction surface on your pads will change ABSOLUTELY NOTHING exept that they will last longer than your stock G60 pads. Performance wise it will change nothing. Basically the brake pressure will be divided over a larger surface area. When you calculate braking force, the surface area of the pad has no impact on braking.
To calculate braking force you multiply :
Normal force X coefficient of friction X radius of your disc
Normal force is the force your brake calipers exert on your discs.
Coefficient of friction is the friction between your brake pads and disc.
Radius of tour disc is the diameter divided by 2.
what you need to do:
Buy pads with a higher coefficient of friction (i.e. semi-metallic aftermarket brake pads.)
Use larger rotors
Increase brake pressure (i.e. larger diameter master cylinder or more power brake assist)
It's a really nice project you've got there, i've always liked MK2 Jetta's and Golf's. I saw one today with a VR6 engine. Damn it sounded good.
But i'd rather have your 1.8T engine though....

thanks for the comments and for your information, the reason why the rabbit pads were put in place was because the G60 pads I ordered didn't fit, after more searing, i learned that mu calipers and carriers were VR6 drivers edition for 11.3'' rotors, even the offset of the disc is different, i will have to get a set of G60 calipers and slap them on!

ce sont des diamond racing, ils sont fait a la main et assembler sur commande speciale seulement, je ne pense pas que tu puisse en voir en magasin :dunno:
800$ par mois environ.. ca reviens cher pour pouvoir travailler sur mon char mais ca aura vallu la peine je crois.

Hier j'ai travailler un peu sur mon jetta, donc jai remis toutes les portes il reste une aile a faire, jai presque fini les lignes a brakes...et j ai eu une idee sortie de nul part d essayer de fitter un rocker de golf3 et bam.. c ca qui va arriver, ca me raproche du sol de 1 pouce!
