What to buy, TSX or Rx-8?

Anyways if you're still set on RX-8 vs TSX it's very easy.

Say you drive an RX-8 for a year and then switch to a TSX for a few weeks: you'll hate how the TSX drives and wonder why the car feels all funny when you carry a little speed on a tight corner.

When you get used to a low driving position RWD car it's very, very, verrrryyy hard to go back to a big FWD sedan.

Forget the extra fuel cost. What's 25$ more a month to you vs having a car that is 10X more fun to drive?

And to the person who said the TSX has good steering feel: Acura makes people think their cars have good ''steering feedback'' by making the steering very heavy. (kind of like what the new BMWs are) The RSX Type S and Honda S2000 suffers from this too.

Go drive an old E36 BMW and you'll see that steering heft-weight is not related to feel.

drive a 92 ACURA integra , it doesnt have that heavy feeling .... trust me

Oil being burnt in the RX8 is common. People freak out thinking its bad but it's part of the rotary combustion process. Oil is injected in the CC chamber to cool it.
amen !!!

I owned a 1999 Integra Type R so yes I know what you are talking about in terms of ''loose feel''.

I was actually referring to the newer Acura models like the TSX, TL, RSX-S, etc...

Volkswagen and Audi are also doing the same thing with their cars now. Steering feels artificial but heavy.

Believe me, once you drive the RX-8, you'll forget about the TSX.

Keep in mind though, there's going to be a new TSX in 2009...

I actually drove the TSX right before getting my first RX-8. There's no comparison with regards to performance and look. You should really check out both cars at the dealership, then you'll know what you want.

Same ;)

And yeah cost a lot in gaz ,( 267 km with 63 $ )
But the fun is there !

I cant beleive the crap people say about the RX8.

Are you guys on this site pussies who like to look at cars, or are you actual car guys, you give a shit about what you drive ?

Im not saying anything bad about the TSX. Great car.

But hell, stop bashing the RX8 because its different. Its like being racist or something.

It uses oil to lub the apex seals. Add 1 quart a month, tops. Its NORMAL. WTF is 1 quart to you a month, really ?

Gas, yes, it drinks allot. Thats a choice you have to make if you want this car.

Reliability.
Car wont start at -15 ? Thats a load of crap.
What weight oil is he using ?
Does he maintain his car right ?
Does he premix (not mandatory but helps)
Has he had all the recalls done (if its in 04)?
Does he have the latest ECU flash ?

I mean, look, if a sports car is not for you, fine. I wont judge you, to each his own.

But if you call yourself a car nut, and you DO want a sports car, stop the complaining.

If you could afford a Ferrari, would you go cry to mama about the 10000$ tuneups ?

RX8 maintenance is maybe 10% more than a standard car, IMO. It takes a little more TLC, but it gives a WHOLE lot of goose bumps and smiles back. Day in and Day out.

And its hella reliable in winter.
Drives great in a snow with good tires (traction control and DSC kick ass on it)
And it starts at -30.
Heated seats

Anyways

Rant off...

Just stop saying crap as fact when you heard it from your best friends, sisters, uncles, sons high school janitor.

2004 was a first year production. I agree to stay away from them. Although with all recalls it should be fine.

You can find sub 20000$ RX8's 2005 with low milleage.

If you want to have fun until you get the 2.5 kids. Get the RX8 :)
Thats what Im doing !!!
