What your parent's experienced in Poland was the former USSR's brand of International Socialism of trying to force as many nations as possible to assimilate into their ideology. Your parent's experienced the "trials and errors" of trying to reach the starting point of Socialism !, The former Soviet Union and its satellite states never even reached the starting point of Socialism let alone Communism and that is why it failed and bought into the temptation of greed and corruption that we see today known as Capitalism !
