The problem is not that israel (and please stop using “jews” and “israel” interchangeably to play the antisemitic card when that’s not what’s at play here) has made a mistake. The problem is that israel has been indiscriminatingly bombing Gaza for 6 months now. They’ve been caught lying multiple times. It is hard to believe that this was an honest mistake. At best it was simply carelessness under a “shoot everything that moves” protocol.
The disregard from israel towards all kinds of international laws or agreements is what people have a problem with.
No other nation in modern history has ever acted remotely close to what israel is doing now.
It has nothing to do with jews, antisemitism, racism, or selective humanitarianism.
It has to do with a state’s military actions which multiple nations, political and humanitarian organizations view as genocide.
Palestinian territories represent significantly less than 1% of the land in the region.
Palestinian population also represents less than 1% of the region’s population.
Palestinian women and children represent the majority of casualties in this conflict.
Can you name another conflict where the ratio of casualties is skewed towards women and children?
Pay attention... I replied to rat^3 using it interchangeably and making a statement about the jewish community. It was a direct reply.
You believe israel is bombing indiscriminately. And yet only 30,000 people have died in an area with 5,500 people per square kilometers with 20K bombings? Simply do the math. 1 Israel JDAM indiscriminately dropped in montreal could kill 100 people in an area with lower population density. Yet israel is averaging 1-2 casualties per strike and 1/3 of the casualties are Hamas or PIJ.
Can you explain to me how the casualties per strike are so low in an indiscriminate campaign?
Here's an example in similar circumstances, i.e. state actor vs non state actor in densely populated zone where militants hide behind civilians:
Gaza city and Mosul
Israel v Hamas & PIJ in Gaza city
Gaza city had a population density of 10,000 civilians per sq km. They had a militant density of 900 fighters per sq km.
1 out of every 12 people was a hamas or PIJ militant in that area earlier in the war.
Casualties in Gaza city were approx 13,000 - 15,000 civilians
US v Isis in Mosul
Mosul had a population density of 4,400 civilians per sq kms and a militant density of 31 militants per sq km. Militant density: 1 out of 142 people was a militant.
Civilian casualties: 40,000
In less complex circumstances, the US managed to kill
3 times as many civilians. No one talks about it aside from a few special forces guys who were in mosul.
